@Islanders de New York

1. not much out there. could call up 36 who isn't physical. or give up a lot to get r. andersson. wings would probably give isles two pennies to take holl off of their hands. where are 5 and 11 these days when you need them? lack of depth, sagging pp, dried up scoring, and too much reliance on 30-again = isles still not ready to be a playoff team ready to make some noise

  2. Hi Steven. Who is 36 Travis Mitchell? We haven't seen what he can do yet. I don't really think Marshall Warren or Mitchell are there any of the 25yr olds at Bridgeport are long term solutions. They are stop gaps. Darche needs to scour rosters an find a 23-26 year old useful dman that can be with us moving forward. Then possibly we can feel comfortable moving the likes of puloch pelech Mayfield

  3. I doubt that Darche will use a first round pick to find help. He seems too smart for that. Hopefully the owners don’t force him to do so either.

  4. Settling for slightly above mediocrity sacrifices future superiority, but fans love immediate rewards or more involved and excited when their team is competitive and playoffs bound, even if not winning ultimately. As fans, we don’t have the patience for building a team though obviously that’s the right thing to do. We don’t think like team CEOs though we’d love the end result of a better team. Also somewhat a dilemma for teams as they might sell better if they remain in the top 15 over a number of years compared to a couple years of going let’s say even to conference semifinals or finals but failing to make the playoffs for multiple years in between. So, here’s the same hypothetical question for the fans or team management: is it preferable to go to playoffs every year over a decade, or go deep into the playoffs in three of those years, including even a finals appearance or win, but fail to make the playoffs in the majority of the seasons over the same ten years?

  5. This team is still simply not a contender. They should just continue to ride it out. If that means you’re not in the picture by the trade deadline then you sell and start turning over the team like you need to. If you are then consider trading someone who needs trading like a JGP or Duclair for a Dman.

  6. I love the comment “I want to add a 3rd 1st rounder! Long term success, is where it’s at!……6’8”….go get em’, did someone say M. Schaefer’s new bff!

  7. Hope Your Thanksgiving was Great Gil! Islanders need to find that team that went 6 and 1 on the road trip or they will continue to slide 🛝. JGP and Romy were big loses and hard to replace their talents. Flyers and Caps are big strong teams so get ready for our small weak team to be push around all weekend. Unfortunately I feel the slide will continue especially because of a pathetic power play. Even though we currently hold a playoff spot the inconsistency of our team will be our downfall. We shall see what team shows the next 2 games. I agree with all of your assessment of our team and you know I agree with the guys that need to be dealt! JGP is the hardest one to let go for me but the only one that could possibly yield a first round pick. We certainly need to add size and physicality to our lineup. Boqvist is 25 and is not a shut down D . He is more of a skating offensive player and looks lost and pushed around on that 3 rd string D. I do not know Louis Crevier but sure would love to add a hulking D man. Not sure if he is even available or what the Hawks would seek in a deal. Hawks certainly have plenty of cap space so can easily take on salary. I don’t know the proper valuation of Crevier. It might be too much to give but would Tsyplakov and Boqvist 2 guys that have no value to us have value to the Hawks? Crevier certainly would be a welcome addition at 24 with his hulk presence.

  8. Good 🌄, Gii. How are you? How was your 🦃? I think Matheiu Darche should make some serious deals, especially since Romanov is through for the season. The Islanders need someone with physicality, in a word, AN ENFORCER. The Islanders have gotten better since last year, but they still have a lot of work to do. They called up Travis Mitchell from Bridgeport, and Marshall Warren should be brought back. I hope they don't give up too much. I think Matheiu Darche is going up dangle a prospect, like 🧀 to a 🐭. I also think that Darche should weigh his options BEFORE HE DOES ANYTHING. The Islanders are a little better than they were last year. If the season were to end today, the Islanders would be in the playoffs; however they still have a lot of work to do. They need a sniper, and as I said before, AN ENFORCER. I like the uptempo play that Patrick Roy wants them to play. He needs to shuffle the lines like a deck of ♦️ again. They should trade Pierre Engvall, who's still in Patrick Roy's 🐕‍🦺🏠. The Islanders play the Flyers at UBS Arena at 4:00 today, and they can put the puck in the net. They've got the Caps on Sunday. They're scary, especially Alexander Ovechkin. HAPPY 🎂, ARI. H. He scored a goal and a helper in a win over the 🐧. Beat from you later, time for more Godfather comparisons. Now, LET'S GO, ISLANDERS'

  9. Good morning team! I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving. Gil, excellent question, but the only two choices are make a trade, bring a player up, or develop someone else on the roster to take over Romanov's spot. Some shuffling may need to be done, but hopefully pairings can be put together that some degree of chemistry. We all know how important chemistry is. Some would argue chemistry comes before natural talent. I'm 50/50 when it comes to that argument. Either way, I still want to see the excitement in the teams play. We may have to struggle for a while until Darche and Roy can find the right combinations. Whatever the choice Darche makes, I have to support it. He's done very well so far, so I'm sticking with him. Excellent subject for today's episode. Flyers today, and Caps Sunday. Thankfully they are both kind of struggling themselves. Everyone, have a great day and weekend! Enjoy the games. See you all again Monday. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!

  10. For sure, Gil, we miss his physicality. I would have no problems moving a veteran or 2 to try to acquire a physical enforcer type D-Man. For the Islanders to beat the Flyers today, they’ll need to sharpen their power play, capitalize on scoring chances, and bring a more physical edge to counter Philadelphia’s resilience. LGI

  11. The more I dig 🪏 into this the more it seems like a real Possibility. Nemec was the Islanders target 🎯 by Darche offering The Avs 1 st rd pick and declined by the Devils! Nemec would have been a great addition but I feel he will be part of a huge deal to offer for Quinn Hughes. Turning to the Hawks who have a glut of D men possibly dangling Crevier and Murphy. The later certainly to old for us but Crevier is perfect in every way. Islander scouts have been around the Hawks and apparently were in Chicago as the Islanders were playing the Devils. What is the ask for Crevier? Would Tsyplakov and Boqvist get it done?

  12. Move on from Lee, palms, Jgp, Zeker, D'Angelo(please for the love of God), Duclair
    I'd rather take a chance on Tsypy over duclair

  13. I agree that Mathieu Darche shouldn't be hasty in pulling off a major trade for a defenseman.
    Lou Lamoriello made that mistake by sacrificing the possible future for just squeaking into the playoffs.
    Begin with call-ups from Bridgeport and if it doesn't work out then and only then should they consider making any type of trade deal.
