  1. DK – I think it's overlooked how much this team is missing Hallander. I know he wasn't lighting it up, but he brought energy, intensity and it should not go overlooked how he was able to open up time and space for his line-mates.

  2. Depth scoring problems … What is going on? There has got to be something for this to be this bad:
    — Tomasino … 0 goals, 1 assist (none at EV) in 9 GP
    — Koppanen … 0 goals, 1 assist in 7 GP
    — Hayes … 0 goals, 1 assist in 6 GP
    — Heinen … 0 goals, 0 assists in 6 GP
    — Koivunen … 0 goals, 2 assists (only 1 at EV) in 11 GP
    — Acciari … 0 goals, 3 assists in 13 GP … this actually constitutes as relatively productive in the Pens bottom 6 this season
    — Lizotte … 3 goals, 1 assist in 21 GP (a 16-point pace over a full season … the worst point-per-game of his career)
    — Novak … 2 goals (only 1 at EV), 7 assists in 21 GP (an 8-goal pace over a full season … only 28 and has seasons where he scored 17 and 18 in Nashville)

  3. Why does Pitt keep playing Hayes? He was awful on Saturday Night. He’s never ready for the pick and looked confused playing with Malkin and Mantha. He’s never ready did a lot of running around.

  4. What the Pens miss is Rakell and Brazeau. When they went out the dominos started to fall. Who wouldn’t be hurt by the loss of two top-six players?

  5. There are so many underwhelming players that you cannot simply place them all on waivers like Tomasino. This is a bad team and it needs patience, time and intelligent personnel decisions. We now know that the coach wasn't the issue. Dan Muse has not fixed anything. The new scheme hasn't fixed anything.

  6. Agree DK. Only way the Pens send out major draft capital or prospects is to acquire an early 20s pending RFA type who's already established in the league, and at a position of organizational need. That to me means a left defenseman playing well in the league now with top pair upside. Not many of those guys out there but there might be a few available to acquire. Bowen Byram, Pavel Mintyukov are the ones I'm keeping an eye on.

  7. Thank you DK. Broz is aware and thankful of many things. I hope he brings that energy on the ice. He deserves it. The team needs a boost. Great show DK

  8. You'd think that Kevin Hayes would be relatively easy to move since he was acquired, along with a 2nd round pick, for Future Considerations…and Philadelphia is retaining half of his salary.
Heinen was an add-on in the trade sending Petterson and O'Connor to Vancouver.
Novak and Schenn (who became a 2nd and 4th) for Bunting and a 4th.
The last time Acciari was traded, at the deadline, Toronto gave up two players, a 1st, a 2nd, and 3rd.
Dubas got Dumba and a 2nd for Kolyachonok.

Dubas could trade all of these guys for a 7th round pick, each, and still have made a huge income off of the assets because of how good the trades bringing them here were.
