As a Hurricanes fan, I would LOVE to get Quinn Hughes!
Quinn Hughes has peak value at trade deadline because of better health certainty in a playoff run. Pre olympics is sketch for buyers.

You trade Quinn, you trade him now, you retain max on him for the season and a half, you find a team to absolutely fleece, and you commit to a rebuild. We're so tired of the damn re-tools, just do the proper rebuild already. And Aqua can keep his damn fingers out of things already. A lot of Canuck fans can see we've frittered away this core. Enough with kicking the can through another "re-tool" or "on the fly" platitude that ownership and management keeps throwing us every year.

I’m 38 and have only ever watch Canucks through highs and lows. I’ve never jumped on another bandwagon in that time. That being said, if Quinn is traded I may pick another teams jersey for the first time.
Issue is you can’t trade the farm unless you know he will re-sign. He can’t re-sign until the summer and everything thinks he’s going to the Devils.
Imagine trading bo horvat cause you chose to commit to JT miller and now you don’t have either of them

Hughes going to Carolina would block his offensive potential. Brind Armour only likes defensive hockey.
3 red flags in the offseason which i knew would make this year a shitshow: 1. tocchet walks, 2. demko extended, and 3. not making malholtra the coach.
If VAN is trading Hughes, why would they want Hamilton and Mercer?? I think Nemec ++ is the starting price.

In terms of the NJ Devils, wouldn't it be astonishing if you went for the pair in Hughes and Hronek. Franchise altering trade, and start just throwing in prospects and picks, because it is going to cost you, but it'll be worth it. Allows for Hamilton to go out, because, you're honestly going Hronek for Hamilton, but Nemec, and then start throwing in 3 firsts, and ….

Chicago is where Hughes is going. They have enough cap space. They have enough 1st round picks available. They have a great hockey market. They have a dynamic young team. It's the perfect fit. The also have some great prospects available to trade.

Unfortunately, I do agree. I think Quinn Hughes is gone from Vancouver very soon. The sad part about is is that every team around the league probably knows it and they are not gonna give up much to get Quinn Hughes. The Canucks would be lucky to get a basically a bag of pucks for Quinn Hughes, they’ll be lucky if they get a second round draft pack
If the Canucks are serious then this Sunday when Canucks visit NJ I could see maybe something getting close. But it starts with Nico hischer and Nemec from the Canucks side. If I'm the devils, quinn and Dougie #1 pair. And at that point devils want the cup and then does it matter how many picks it costs if you win the cup? So basically it's Nico, Nemec, 1st and conditional 2nd for hughes

The media now more than ever is ruining teams if they aren’t up to a standard. First, Maple Leafs fans drove out Mitch Marner even though that core could’ve won a Stanley Cup (the east is wide open right now). Now fans are driving out our Captain and previous Coach. When will it stop
If I were to guess, it would be a 3 way deal: say between Van./Det./NJ.
NJ gets Quinn, Det. gets Hamilton, and Van. gets Casey (A top tier prospect that plays a similar style to Quinn (obviously not as good)), 1 or 2 filler guys to make the deal work, and at least two 2026 1st round picks.
It would unit the Hughes brother in NJ, give the Red Wings the offensive D-man they've wanted (also, makes Hamilton open to the trade as I don't see him waving his NMC to go to Van.), and brings in a lot for Van. to start their rebuild/pieces to trade with.
SJ is interesting. They also have their 1st pick and Edmonton's for 2026 – currently by points%, that would give the Canucks 1, 7 and 13 overall this summer (pre lottery). Canucks would need to retain on Hughes, so I think you get Smith/Misa and the Edmonton pick. Could the Canucks add to get the SJ pick instead/as well?
