  1. Steve Dangle's not-so-original but very correct prediction on the NHL homepage title made me howl with laughter. I am so sorry my apartment neighbors if I woke you too early on this crisp Saturday morning.

  2. jfc. mcdavid literally cannot have an even barely competent gm in his career can he. jarry is older, more expensive and was on freaking waivers before this. i would be so pissed off if i was mcdavid. they literally are wasting his career

  3. everybody's saying the Penguins committed Hi-way robbery with this trade… but the Penguins acquired a known 2-time Stanley Cup LOSER in Skinner. If the Penguins make it to the Playoffs, it's going to be because of Silovs, not Skinner…I'd say Edmonton won the trade.

  4. Dawg Poulin couldnt make the Penguins nhl roster when rackell, malkin, lizotte, acciari, or hallander were injured. i can guarantee you hes never seeing the cup contending Edmonton Oilers roster.

  5. Good trade, Both Skinner and Jarry wanted out, they get a fresh start. As for the Oilers, the pressure on the room is released somewhat, because they've been playing like they were waiting for this to happen. Y'all are nuts. Dubas created the mess the Leafs are in. Kulak and Skinner could be out the door in July for nothing. Pfft Dubas.

  6. Everyone keeps complaining could have had Jarry for free last year. How is that possible with the Oilers against the cap.

  7. Edmonton won , Jarry is an upgrade and those picks ain’t going be anything . Jarry been playing for a bad pits team who barely winning or making playoffs . Skinner stats only look good cuz of mcdavid & Leon… Jarry will play better cuz he has something to play for . Oilers can always have Jarry second option worse case scenario and get another goalie but I love it for both, a change of scenery but pits not even close to playing playoff hockey but media makes it seem oilers lost 😂GTFO

  8. The lack of defensive support has been the real issue in Edmonton. Skinner is just the latest goalie to fall victim to Edmontons lack of defence. And the Oilers traded away a solid 5/6 defenceman to boot. They traded a goalie who twice got to the Cup final despite Edmontons lack of defence, and they got worse defensively? This was a panic trade! Prime Carey Price couldn’t pull off the miracle that they are asking Jarry to do! A trade to improve their defence is what the Oilers needed to do and that hasn’t happened. Good for Skinner, he’s going to be lights out on a team with even average defence! Also he and his wife won’t have to deal with death threats from morons anymore!

  9. When you realize that the Pens are gonna flip Skinner by the deadline to make way for their two young goalies to be 1 and 2 it looks even better. Got people coming back from IR too so got real playoff hopes this year and more going forward. I am all in on GMKD

  10. The money they saved from McJesus went directly to Tristan Frickin’ Jarry. They wouldn’t give Ingram a chance even though they acquired him? 🤔

  11. I think that the Oilers are gambling that Jarry is back to form. Skinner was going to be a UFA…who were the goalies available on the off-season? Bobrovsky at 39 coming off a $10m contract? Freddy Andersen at 38? Johnathan Quick at 41?
There are no surefire UFAs in the summer, and Skinner is likely to be a 4.5+ starter due to his playoff record.
That means over the next 2 years Jarry needs to be $1.25m better than Skinner, not $3.5m.
It also means the oilers aren't headed into the summer with literally nothing in net.
Now it can work or it might not work – but the Oilers could have lost both these players for nothing and still needed a goalie.

  12. If the Oilers went into another post season with the same tandem, analysts over the league would be dumping on them for not trying something new. When the Oilers do try something new then all the same analysts dump on them for whatever move they would make. Their job is clicks and the more negative they are the more clicks they’ll get

  13. Skinner ends up a backup on some team out East that ends up facing Edmonton in the finals in the next few years. Skinner is pressed into net after the starter suffers an injury, and Skinner defeats the Oilers to win the Stanley Cup, IN EDMONTON.

    Checkmate.

  14. Funny how, a whole lot of GM’s being considered among the bad GM’s (true or not) are the first to make a significant move this season. This is how Edmonton is spending the cap gift that McDavid gave them … and Nashville which is on the verge of imploding are still trading away young players ! Minnesota is all in for the next 2 years, because there is a good chance Hughes joins the other Hughes’s, they seem confident in the power of the Kaprizov’s kind of contract offer. For Better of worse, Dubas is the only one i can say might have won his trade no matter what happens.

Like Steve said, call the “Preds GM” …. ill add if Edmonton is calling, you pick up the damn phone.

  15. All i'd say is look at advanced stats. Jarry is significantly better at the chances that the Oilers give up. Especially high danger opportunities compared to Skinner
