   Boston is indeed playing great hockey lol they've exceeded expectations thus far. Ppl expected them to be about where the Caps are atm.

   I agree about O'Reilly but it depends on the price. I wouldn't want to include Ryan Leonard for example but you have to give something to get something. Also, Ovi's status after this season plays into it. I love Ovi, he gave us a Cup, but I'm not sure they shouldn't move on, even if he does want to play in the NHL 2 or 3 more seasons. I don't think holding onto him so he can break say 1000 goals or move up further in the career points list, (he's currently 11th), is a good enough reason to keep him.
   As to Chuckie, I think the season before last when we barely made the playoffs, he was playing at his peak. I hope he can recapture that and get back to that level or above but I agree that he's not elite. Prove me wrong Chuckie!! I'd love to see him press Logan for the number 1 goalie with both playing at a high level.

   I was so happy when they got Dubois from day 1. Day 1. He will be good as new in a year, but that’s not now. Trade him for Kucherov and throw a nr.1 and nr 3 along with PLD to get it done. Ovechkin is fine, but only Strome is helping out.

   I like Charlie. He's a good net minder. Charlie is not the problem in net. He needs help in front. When he gets the help, he's good.

   One obstacle they would need to navigate if trading for a legitimate top-6 player is staying cap-compliant. Even if a deal of say Lapierre+1st rounder+2nd rounder in theory could get you a solid player as the main pieces going back, you'd still need to get another 3-4 million off your books to facilitate such a trade. This means we'd likely have to move out at least one of Lindgren, TVR, Dowd or Sandin, unless you could move out a creative combo of Milano/Beauvillier+Chisholm.

   I agree 100% with the main sentiment that this should have been done in the off-season.

   I would welcome a trade to add depth, but with where the roster is at I do not want to sacrifice future peices. No Leno, no miro, no cristall, no Hutson

    Great episode Dan! Knocked it out of the park. I think these questions were on a lot of caps fans minds. The good news for the caps is we are in the mix and still have time, just need to get the results before it's too late.

    In my eyes we're still in a retool that so far was going much better than expected…..so i wouldn't sacrifice any substantial prospects or picks for this season….let the young players in and if all goes wrong….tank for McKenna….he'd be Ovi's replacement

    Dan, good win in Carl. not pretty! did enough and Carl. did not play like in playoffs taking away getting in the zone. Take it and run. What it take to get #2 line player?

    Getting a top 2 center is going to be difficult. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that they need one, though.
