  1. Ryan has the best takes on this team in the entire Leafs media ecosystem. I completely agree that the biggest problem is the Leafs lack superstars who can take over a game. Nylander can do it for a shift. Matthews and Tavares have their moments. But they are not top 30 forwards in the league. All three have glaring flaws and the roster isn't deep enough to counter balance their off nights.

  2. Rob Jarry has NEVER been to the Playoffs in his career.. PLEASE don't count the Coilers of Coilerville making the Playoffs this season or maybe SNIFFING the Wild Card spot

  3. I would sit down with Auston and say look your game is noweheres good enough to win a Stanley cup right now and we are in a win now mode right now so you need to decide your future with us. Are you staying or do you want to give us 10 teams you would like to go to. Its time for the Leafs to build the team right. Trade Matthews for McDavid or cale makar. Morgan Rielly I would get him to move his no move claus.

  4. Mathews is the worse game 7 superstar except for his shit the bed buddy Joe Thornton but both are/were gutless!

  5. The guy on the right is delusional. That have been terrible in the last few games. Nothing positive.

  6. The fanboy on the right made me check out in less than 2-and-a-half minutes. Rebuild is coming. You want to fix hockey in Toronto? Give the fans what they deserve…a second NHL team. Look at the NY Rangers. They have THREE other teams within 100 miles from Madison Square Garden. Matthews contract is robbery. With all the NHL injuries, do fans still cheer for the Olympics? I'm glad I haven't watched the Olympics since 1972.

  7. It scares me the possibility of Matthew's leaving at the end of his current contract and getting no return! He knows he can not win the cup, so he'll do what Marner did and do the easiest move, and that's to escape the pressure by leaving!!!

  8. I don't like Willy being singled out but when you compare his effort in the d-zone to Matthews, it's not even a comparison. And Rielly doesn't need to be singled out, he needs to be put on waivers.

  9. Nylander gets called out because he’s the most lackadaisical defensively and refusal to get his nose dirty. Matthews is getting a free pass because of his back issues and the coach knows he’s not capable of scoring like used to and can’t get physical because of it. To be fair Willy was getting a free pass until this year as Marner was getting the brunt of it, at least by the fans and media

  10. The Leafs under GM Dumb Tree is rapidly descending into chaos. It was extraordinarily shortsighted of him to trade away two first-round picks for supporting players last March, especially knowing that Mitch Marner was leaving. The priority should have been to preserve those picks to find a replacement for Mitch, not expend them on a fourth defenseman and a fourth-line center. The focus was misguided, and he should have faced termination of his contract at that point. Keith Pelley, who granted him the reins to the team, must also bear the responsibility.

Given Dumb Tree track record in Calgary, it should come as no surprise that the Leafs are struggling and being one of the worst team in the East Although Dumb Tree will surely make numerous calls, he has repeatedly failed to secure any significant trades for impactful players, resorting instead to inconsequential deals. With Matthews carrying an injury body for a considerable time, surrendering two first-round picks last March was a reckless decision. Pushing the "all-in" button at that moment when your top centre was extremely injured was an unforgivable error.

To make matters worse, 88 appears to be out of shape and lacking fitness this season.Has Tree been monitoring the players’ conditioning? It's evident that Matthews has not maintained his physical form. Additionally, defenseman 44, one of the highest-paid D in the league, has proven to be a misstep. Engaging in discussions with him during the offseason will not change the fact that he is past his prime. The appropriate course of action would have been to buy him out and move on.

Re-signing player 91 is a decent move, but it’s not a game-changer, especially considering he is already 35 years old and cannot be relied upon to uplift the team. Tree should clearly understand the extent of player 34’s injury; how then can he justify focusing his efforts on bolstering the bottom six while the first-line center continues to deliver average offensive output especially the departure of the 102-point player should he find a top 6 first.

Tree has fundamentally disrupted the team's game plan, and his assumptions are entirely misguided. We will boycott the Leafs until Keith Pelley dismisses Dumb Tree

  11. lol McDavid has 18 points in 13 games in the cup finals. That’s the leading scorer on either the Oilers or Panthers for those 2 years, hardly means he doesn’t show up. Any leaf would love those stats for any payoff series.

  12. Overhyped, overpaid, never physical when the chips were down. BLOW IT UP and get the assets while they're available. I'm sure the guys would waive to go to a contender, because the Buds aint gonna contend any time soon.

  13. Regardless of the sport, truly great players have something in common. A drive to win at all costs and an unrelenting refusal to accept losing. Jordan had it, Montana had it, Gretzky had it. Nowhere on the Leafs does it exist. Matthews does not have it. Neither does Nylander, Reilly or Tavares. They never had it and never will (regardles of injury) due in large part to this organization's buffoonish talent management. If you want to change the DNA of this team…CHANGE THE DAMN DNA! Wake me when all remnants of the "Core 4" are off this team. The window is firmly closed for this bunch.

  14. The Leafs are closer to last place in the Conference than they are a playoff spot and these guys are gobbling and glazing them. 😂🤡

  15. As a Vegas fan, I am so glad Marner got out of the negative morass in Toronto. He is averaging right at a point per game, leads the team in plus/minus, and provides solid, 200' play.

  16. Taking Florida to game 7 in the 2nd round last year is probably going to be the Leafs' high water mark for playoff success in the Matthews era. They probably need to be thinking of moving on from him before his contract evpires.

  18. Matthews is an Eric Lindros…. on a few different levels…. Trade the guy down to a southern team and maximize your return for a rebuild… Jumpstart now or youll lose all value he has 😉

  19. Who’s to says it’s an injury responsible for ‘Captain Underpants ‘ declining performance . That could very well be the misdirection narrative that’s being spun by his handlers and the Kool aid drinking media. What if it’s more sinister? Like : Bob Probert, Kevin Stevens, Ian White sinister. 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮 Put that in your pipe and smoke it. Okay bad example, but you get the point. Go Leafs Go 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Cheers 😎

  20. Berube and nylander have a problem and berube thinks defense first so he thinks nylander can't play defense and the team is taking a shitty attitude because berube has a shitty attitude leafs need a new coach in my option and if it doesn't work it's time to make internal changes

  21. Yes, injuries are apparently having a significant effect on Matthews' performance. However, Marner's departure is also proving detrimental, maybe more so than the anti-Marner fanatics would like to admit. It doesn't appear Toronto has remotely succeeded in getting adequate replacement for Marner.

  22. Will Rob and Ryan eat crow when the leafs fail to make the playoffs? Matthews hasn’t shown up in the playoffs for the past 5 seasons Ryan, “calm down, calm down “. 😂😂😂😂
Go leafs go 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Cheers 😎

  23. I think the reason Willy gets 'singled out' by Berube isn't because 'he can take it' or whatever, but because the coach has deemed he's the guy not consistently working at maximum capacity. Unfortunately, what you're getting out of guys like JT, Matthews, and Riley is thee most you can expect from them

  24. Here’s what should scare the pants off of every knowledgeable Leafs fan. Will Keith Pelley go to the board and tell them that a full blown rebuild needs to happen, not two years after this year is over, but immediately? The trajectory of the Leafs for the next decade will be determined over the next 45 days.
