Kuzmenko and Danault would be a trade that would make the money work for Hughes. Hughes would certainly help the powerplay problems, and has been a plus defender. I don't exactly trust our 3rd defense pair just yet, so he'd probably bump one of those two or of the every day lineup. I don't know if the Kings have the picjs to add to make this an enticing offer for Hughes, but if they're asking about Danault, perhaps there's a way to sell it.
Detroit isn't lacking for bottom six forwards who can't score. Just can't see them as a destination. If they're gonna make a move it'll likely be for another top 6 forward or 3rd pairing defenceman. I think the likelihood is Montreal. Young and wouldn't say no to veteran, defensively responsible centre who can show the younger guys good habits on and off the ice.

Like I said after the loss from Chicago, we have a lot more to give.. The 11 goals since is nice, but really no big deal.. We got the talent, it’s the coaches jobs to bring it out.. Hiller is doing just enough not to lose his job..

I personally believe that if the danault camp has in fact leaked trade rumors or interests in a trade it pretty much tanks whatever value the kings could have gotten for him but also rumors are just rumors
He's a great defensive center, his offensive has always be lackluster I'd still be happy to keep him by the way

Kings never addressed the center depth issue. They tried by getting Dubois and it failed miserably. Now the problem is expanding with Kopitar retiring, Danault struggling and Byfield looking more like 2nd line center than proclaimed top line guy. Nothing in the minors as well to trade or call up. Not only does Holland need to address the center issue but also the scoring issue which the organization has had now for like a decade. I don't see what real value Danault has at this time. I would hold on to him at least for the remainder of the season.
He's a playoff performer and will come around. Keep him.
Why would we replace Danault with Laferriere and not Turcotte a natural center?
Outside of some sort of package to get Quinn Hughes, there's nothing really out there that would be worth surrendering Phillip's upside.

Danualt has been a 2nd line center since he signed with LA. The only time he's has been a 3rd liner with the Kings is this season Eddie. Montreal wanted him to play 3rd line center, and he didn't want to. That's one of the reasons he left.
