Sorry but they ain't beating the elite teams in the playoffs
Best to get high frat picks get rid of old players keep anyone below age 30
I think if the team continues to play well and competes hard. That darche owes it to they to them to make a run. If ur team is right there at playoffs and you decide to sell off? Thats sordova slap in the face to everyone!
Anyone age 30 and above can be traded depends on what islanders want this year playoffs lose first round or tank for Matthews future he's only 18
You need young players but you also need some veterans to help them but bad contracts and old players age 33 and up get rid of
Pageant and keep can get you some really good going players in return to be honest
Your not beaten Florida in the Stanley Cup with islanders sister that's the standard because of that you gotta get rid of old players above age 30 to get younger and deft picks girvar can get you a big time going player in return
Good morning team! Gil, in Darche I trust, until he commits the absolute ridiculous. Anything he wants to do, to help improve the team, I believe, will be for the best of the team. He wants to build a POWERHOUSE, if only for the selfish reason to say, he can do it again. He did it with Tampa, and wants to do it for the Islanders. He has made very smart moves thus far. No reason to think that will change any time soon. I will go on record to say, no SINGLE player is worth our two 1st round picks. It's my hope the rest of the planet agrees. Ducks come into UBS tonight. Let's treat them like unwanted guests. Get the first goal, play excellent defense, solid goal tending, fight for every loose puck, and play excellent special teams. Everyone, have a great day! Enjoy the game. See you all again tomorrow. Until then.. Let's Go Islanders!!
No reason they can't compete in the playoffs. They beat Colorado Dallas Vegas twice, Washington , Tampa twice , NJ, NYR , UTA ,EDM ,SJ, DET twice the list goes on they've beat great teams
Any Diehard Isles fan knows deep down that this is not the year we win the Cup. Isles management needs to stay the course for the full re-build. Do not mortgage the future by selling off the youth. If anyone moves, it should be Pageau, Lee, Cizikas … we can't be wedded to the expiring contracts and older players … love those guys, but the future isn't now … it's tomorrow without them on the roster … JMO
Unless that trade is a win win I would stick to the draft. We may not finish the Stanley cup winner. I'm not sure a trade would change that only long term talent should be the target. We need youth. 😊 We will see. Either case I'm here not changing my loyalties
Don't touch Quinn Hughes. He wants to play with his brothers in New Jersey. After next season he's a UFA. Let NJ over pay for him, either in a trade this season, or as a free agent signing. I would definitely trade Barzal, who I do like, to Vancouver for their 2026 first round pick. That would accelerate our much needed rebuild. We've been playing exciting hockey, however will we be able to keep up this pace throughout the entire season? I think not, there's just not enough horses in our stable. Thus, the reason why the rebuild must begin now, as it should have begun as soon as Darche took over for pooh lamoriello. As an aside, I like the job Rocky Thompson is doing in Bridgeport. Accountability, accountability, accountability. Maggio is making nice strides under Rocky. Why am I dying for a potato knish? Must be the cold weather. My body is calling out for carbs.
Great show Gil, I agree with your logic, it's definitely the correct path to take for the Isles!
I think we should definitely add players to make a run.. the sooner the better.. however, we're not getting players where 1st rounders are going the other way… definitely need more grit and physical players added…
Hi Gil. Quinn Hughes is a shiny penny I would pass on. I believe Darche should stand pat and continue to draft and let Lee and others age out of their contracts …
i got 4 Stanley cups thrift the draft dynasty years let's go get those draft picks now you have number 1 future defence now get young centres wingers in draft and goalies to help Schaeffer you ain't winning cuonwith thangrouk so your wasting time getting higher draft picks if you don't
After 30 games its evident now that EC is up for grabs as a whole. The islanders could finish first, or last! Its going to be a crazy finish. I think Darche stays put and just like T the draft u will have to knock his socks off to make a big trade at the deadline. My feeling is isles will be in a playoff spot come deadline, lee and pageau stay whether or not they sign extensions and darche makes some small mives to bolster the depth for a playoff run. Like it or not i think this the roster ride or die
Good afternoon, Gil. How are you? The Islanders are off to a fast start, but Matheiu Darche still has a lot of work to do. He still has to replace Kyle Palmieri and Alexander Romanov, both of whom are out for the rest of the year. If the Islanders are still in the market, THEY STILL GET SOMEONE WHO'S YOUNG, SKILLFUL, AND HAS A GREAT 🏒 IQ. The Islanders shouldn't trade Maxin Tsyplakov if they don't have to. Anders Lee's gotten better skating wise, but there is no speed. I think Anders Lee should stay RIGHT WHERE HE IS. He provides great leadership, and he still has some skills. The Islanders host the 🦆 at UBS Arena tonight. The 🦆 are tough, and the Islanders have their work cut out for them. Both teams have youth and speed. HAPPY 🎂, JP PARISIE 1941-2015. His son, Zach played for the Islanders, too. He scored a 🎩 and a helper trick in a win over the CA GOLDEN SEALS. He also brought the rivalry with the DREADED RANGERS by scoring the GW GOAL 11 seconds into OT to eliminate the Rangers. Hear from you later, Gil, but before I go, I compared Bob Nystrom to a Character from Yellowstone. He was Floyd, Rip's right hand man and also his best man when he married Beth. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS'.
Protection and grit might be a bunt… Schaefer's in need of a Shadow and if Matt Martins not out skating with 'Billy the kid' look lookin at a comeback….🤠👌 I'd look at Marchment maybe" as a cheap option if worse get worse… #48 has to protect himself; it just takes one Pat Quinn like hit and its never the same again… The hits' like McNabb is gonna be his crucible as they rough em up at 18!
I believe or hope this game against the Ducks tonight is a great showcase for the new NHL… a preview of potential playoff matchups down the road.
Jeez; looking at the draft right now: Chicago is sitting pretty at 14 and 15 (Fla)…. If Florida tanks and the Black hawks hit the wall; they will be sitting pretty! Islanders are playing outta the scenario here as we speak.. 26th and 33 Colorado… A Cup favourite for sure; imagine a visit there for the Finals and a bad beat… Chicago's in the drivers seat here for sure… two lotto balls? PS Chicago has 3 2nd round pick's and one courtesy of the Isles with Josh Bailey for FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS???
