Calgary will find a way to finish 20th with an average draft pick with average players going no where.
If Kadri wants another cup he will have to ask for a trade to a winner…maybe Dallas or Colorado?
If the Flames get hot and win 3 or 4 in a row, it could impact the standings. From 31 to 27th.
Kadri is getting traded no matter what, except if the GM needs to be fired to make the trade happen anyway, it’s already a miracle that any team is willing to take a chance with that horrible contract, the more they wait (in years) the least valuable he will get, it’s now or never.
If the team enters officially a rebuild Huberdeau’s contract can slowly die in Calgary, the same as Price’s/Laine’s/Gallagher’s/Anderson’s did/does in Montreal, unless … you wanna help out a certain french speaking city with a few way shorter stinker contracts and retain on Huberdeau’s, who knows, the bigger the retention, the more sugar (prospect/draft capital) is added.
They gotta make an off-ice unofficial deal with Andersson so he stops preventing his own deal out of town (it’s what i heard is happening from the medias).
Sell the other vets, keep the youngsters, find whole news bad deals for free to flip, ideally be the team receiving a Monahan and a first, not the other way around !
