@Canucks de Vancouver

1. f team tank axe the tank lets go on a run and have a awesome gun run in playoffs.. The trades made was to make us competitive and not be messed with since we have alot going on i would rather trade med ia ppl tank lovers instead.

  2. Why is Aatu Raty benched when this is a rebuild, especially when the Canucks are so short on centres. No EP40, no Blueger. They have Rossi, Kampf, and who else? Seems silly to bench Raty.

  3. Team is much faster team after they made Quinn Hughes trade. Go Canucks Go. Tocchet loves Garland you might see him in Philly.

  4. Foote is a defenseman..if you’re a shiity team, play defense..they’ve rebuilt on the fly? Where are Canucks?

  5. Quinn was always amazing offensively, but I never liked him defensively. He’s small, and was never a lockdown D man against teams top lines. Also, maybe they’re playing more sound together as a team right now cuz they know that’s the way they have to play to win.

  6. I guess this is the beginning of their annual "retool", in which they heat up to finish .500 by the end of the season.

  7. Honestly, they were always looking for Quinn Hughes to make the pass to. He was actually holding them back a bit. In the long run, he isn't made for the playoffs, as we will see.

  8. They genuinely played a great 60 min game, pretty much everyone looked good tonight, great effort, fast, lots of chances. Losing a game like this would be extremely demoralizing for everyone.

  9. It's not confusing… Trade Sherwood while he's hot for a 1st round pick and trade Thatcher Demko for a package similar to Quinn Hughes trade. Lots of teams need a elite goalie and would pay up!! Demko is too old to keep with the route Canucks are taking. Timeline doesn't line up for both them anymore!!!

  10. We’ve always had good people, it’s just that they didn’t really have a chance to play because Hughes and Patterson had been playing until they drop! It was a coaching problem all along. Now that these guys have a chance to play more, they shine. Hope when Patterson gets back, he’s not overplayed with too much defensive duty. He should be offensive and his stamina kept for that purpose.

  11. Quinn is a quitter he quit on the team. When your leader quits on you its deflating. The new guys want to win and want to be here.

6 points out of the playoffs with 2 games in hand. Its Revenge time and I want the wild round 1. You Keep Sherwood until the deadline and then you keep him if in the playoffs at the deadline.

  12. Imagine if the Canucks could off of a trade of EP40 and Hoglander to the Buffalo Sabres for Tage Thompson and Alex Tuch? They would add size and grit to the lineup AND get out from under EP40’s contract.

  13. There are no theories or any magic to this at all. The Canucks are just sticking to what they do best year after year and that is to Never Tank to the basement or come anywhere near to getting better odds at draft picks and at the time win a few games to keep their diehard fans hope on life support.

  14. Why are you confused? Quinn slowed down the break out, he slowed down the offensive possessions puck movement. I don't remember how many times I yelled at the screen 'JEEEEZUS, pass, there's a man open!!!' only to see Hughes skate himself in circles and go around the net or try a stupid bank pass. The difference is we dumped a soft#1 defenseman who quite frankly quit on his teammates and replaced him with a hard nosed, no nonsense puck mover who has an absolute BOMB of a shot in Hronek. Canucks went from having an anchor on the team, to now finally someone actually anchoring the defense. The look of the team is different because the distribution is spreading out.

In the upcoming weeks we will see Hronek start to really establish himself as a legitimate #1 guy… and his D partner Zeev is already looking like a legit 2way defenseman, the way he separates body from puck, and a easy chip play to let the forwards get up ice and do their thing… Quinn would have slowed down the play skated in a few circles and the forwards would have lost track of their positioning and the play would have died with a dump in while the forwards are either changing or completely out of position.

If anyone remembers 2 years ago, Hronek broke two opposing players legs within a few days of one another, (NYI and New Jersey) with his slap shot, both times the Canucks scored… the 2 years since, Hronek has quietly disappeared because Hughes stopped using him as an outlet. Not sure why, but this has become painfully obvious for the past 20+ games, the Canucks turned into a 1 man show and hockey is a team sport, no matter how good you think you are.

And also Demko of course needs to stay healthy. He is our true MVP.

  15. This team looks better because it’s not just about stars anymore. When every line can contribute, the whole system works. Hockey is a team game—depth and chemistry matter more than individual names.

  16. My take is that Hughes' play style just didn't fit; he's too offensive for a defensive player, and he has always had a problem (in my opinion) with passing the puck, opting to try and make fancy plays instead, and I thought he stayed on the ice too long. I'm not doubting his skills as a hockey player, but he just never struck me as a very effective team player.

  17. What is happening is that Canucks gets players with winnig confidence into their team, something this team has been lacking for ages. These players shows you have to have fun.

  18. No, they are exactly like every other team in the NHL. Look at Winnipeg, these days. As for "deaner" and the rest of the "team tank", combined, you idiots don't know enough about professional hockey to fill a thimble! You're just a bunch of "fair weather fan whiners".

  19. Someone call the front office and remind them we need to be losing 3 games for every win we get. We need McKenna!!! Play well and play hard, but make sure we tank.

  20. It's a young team! They've won when Hughes was out! Hughes fighting with Mancini for not passing to him explains the elephant in the room. Team is Better without Hughes! Minny just secured an 2nd round exit! Hughes too weak for playoffs
