The issue with the team is really very simple but difficult to solve in the short term; they are the oldest and slowest team in the NHL.
Furthermore benching Perfetti just shows the ass backwards mentality from ownership, management, and down through coaching. McDavid couldn't produce shit with the linemates Perfetti has been given this season, it's so blatant that no one in the organization has any clue how to look at player skills and figure out what skills compliment others.
Just more proof about how much Ehlers propped up the whole structure of the team.
