Did Skinner really give up his first Goalie game against his former team the Oilers to Draisetel’s Victory of the 1000 Points? I think not. Playing his former team the Oilers as a Pittsburgh Goalie? I think not the question answers itself. 🥅
The Oilers got fleeced once again. Pittsburgh tried to get rid of Jarry on waivers but no team wanted him. The pigeons in Edmonton came swooping in and took the bait. Pittsburgh got a younger 27 years of age healthier goaltender with DEEP PLAYOFFS EXPERIENCE , a defenseman plus a bonus 2nd round future pick. Oilers management sat on its bums for over a couple years. Calvin Pickard should have been replaced by Skinner as tge back up. Oilers management weren't smart enough to aquire a descent starter. Oilers saved up their strategy to give huge raises to proven LOSERS such as the Bouch bum, shaky Eckholm. Lets be true that the Oilers defense performance grades aren't in sync with what their getting $$$ . Bouchard, Eckholm and Nurse the curse aren't worth a sack of hammers defensively. Bouchard 10.5 million..
Nurse 9.25 million… Eckholm 7 – 8 million… Skinner 2.6 million… Pickard less money… What did the Oilers think? Their dollar store value goaltending was going to win Stanley cups having to play behind a HORRENDOUS DEFENSE who are making the big bucks. Oilers offense hardly put an effort into trying to forcheck or comming back to help defensively. McDavid and Drysaitl are Hollywood stares who cant get into the 2 way grind side of the game. No wonder poor Skinner was mentally breaking down. Expected to raise the Stanley cup. Jarry is in for a shock and awe playing for those cry baby Oilers fans . Knoblauch never seems to take responsibility, just kick the can down the road. Bowman and Jackson are responsible as well. The Calgary Flames are comparable to the Oilers performance so far this year. For Pete's sake, the Flames are supposed too have way less talent but yet they are winning some 3 games winning streaks and put together a few 2 games wins in a row. I believe the Flames won a game vs Oilers earlier this season? Embarrassing!!!! 😮
