I think in a way this loss is a good thing because the more they lose the better chance the coach gets fired and a new coach takes over. Berube's system does not fit this roster and it is pretty obvious he has lost the room. The players are NOT the problem. Injuries are also a major factor as well

Berube type of hockey, I expected this last year (doesn't fit the team roster = who on earth it could work with player like Maccelli in offseason?) but I guess Mitchie boy carried them to the playoffs with his control of the play, companionship with Matthews and 100+ points. Sorry, had to say it. Adding Lalonde is a joke. He did horrible job at Detroit with it's defence and almost destroyed multiple careers of goaltenders. Leafs just don't have the mix of players in any of the lines to play this type of hockey that leads into shots and wins consistently. That's the bottom line: consistency and cohesion. I guess it could work in the playoffs but then you would need to pump them up somehow to show up. So, if Berube can't do it, why he is behind the bench? Wasn't hiring him the whole point of that?
