Actually, the Leaf’s played well, except for their LEADER…he was, again, a bystander. Who was the one that made the call to rip the C off Johnny’s chest and pin on Mathews? Iit had to be Pelley, a hockey man would never do it. Captain Mathews is called a Centre…but Centres do far more than just take Faceoffs…they carry the puck, creat opportunities and make plays. The Captain doesn’t and his 8 assists is testimony. The goaltending was awful…you will never win a game scoring only 1 goal and your netminder records an.840 Sv%. The bottom line is Bad Trey Living has done a crappy job and as proof, check out what his additions have done with the Team. Rose Yawn Kipper loved everything he did…they are paid to be fanboys…they even pounced on Marner when he was here. All he did was carry the Team recording 104pts and finish in the top 5 in League scoring with Mathews out for 15gms. Rose called him a Cancer. When asked about Mathews Leadership acweekmorvso ago, Yawn Kipper said…“it’s too early to say”. These guys are shameless.

In this weekend's games, the Leafs picked up no points in the standings whatsoever while the Habs picked up three of a possible four and the Sens picked up all four points available to them. Toronto is now last in its division and second-last in the conference. That's simply unacceptable.
I don't even mind that the leafs suck. What bothers me is there's no creativity. When someone has a breakaway, 90% of the time its simply a wrist shot straight on, and when it's not it's a predictable slow backhand with no shot-fake to freeze the goalie.
The players almost never attack with speed, and when they do, again, it's predictable. No trying to dangle past the defender, just trying to outmuscle them every single time.
They can't cycle to save their lives, they don't take one-timers, they don't do touch-passes, there's hardly any noticable set plays and in general, there's nothing they do that's not completely predictable. I don't know if I've ever seen them so easy to play against. They look like they're constantly worried that trying to have fun and put on a show for the fans will get them punished. This isn't a missing Marner problem. This is a mindset problem.
They're boring as dirt.
