Second comment…just trade Matthews and the team can be better. Get a huge return and retool. No reason the leafs can't turn it around just be smart with the assets. Good players: Nylander, Knies, Bobby, Tavares, the goalies are fine Stollarzt/Woll. Just trade Matthews for a big haul, get rid of Reilly too, use those two trades to get another top pair D plus a 200 foot C.

Boudreau has always had the Leafs as his dream coaching job. I believe he was drafted by the Leafs, but his playing career was derailed by injury or something like that to make it to the NHL as a d-man. I don't know if Boudreau still has it in him to coach, but he would be great for f-bombs and he has always been a players coach. He also has experience dealing with star players(when he coached the Caps).
