Get rid of Matthew's, Woll and Stolarz because they are constantly unhealfhy and not helping the team being on the IR.
Nobody in the rest of the league wants to help the Leafs at this point. Matthews is a shell of his former 60+ goal self. He would have to pass a rigorous physical, where it will be understood what exactly is ailing him. Massive gamble on anyone's part to take on Matthews cap hit regardless. Morgan Reilly is going nowhere, he knows he has Toronto over a barrel until 2030 and will stay here. As for Willy Styles ( Nylander ), he isn't moving either.

By canning Savard, The Leafs just made it apparent that a trade is the next thing on the horizon and it's likely Matthews, Carlo, Macelli, Domi, Robertson and Rielly who are getting the axe. Matthews should be traded for a young Top 2 Centre like a Byfield, McTavish, Fantilli, and draft capital. Next the Leafs need to trade for a young future defensive cornerstone like a Brandt Clarke or Owen Power. Danford along with another D man would be ideal because it injects the team with some hungry youth players mixed in with some vet talent.

Treliving should have fired himself after firing Berube.I always like your commentary but today you make little sense by putting the blame on Savard. The players to not want to play for Berube, he is self centred and stupidly blamed Nylander while he was leading the team in points. If you want to point a finger at players point at Reilly, always leads team I minus, plays way to soft for his size, and only worried about points. Carlo hurt does not make difference onLeaf defence, to big and to soft. Get rid of Berube and send Reilly packing with him. You are a long ways from Leaf mananger. Toronto should make a trade for Stamkos. Him and Tavares, Matthews and Nylander would bring some of the stability lost on RW when Marner left. You’ve got Knies and Robertson at LW.
Trade Domi, Maccelli, a 3rd (2026) or a 2nd (2027). If they wanted Robertson instead of a draft pick then Toronto could always use McMann or Cowan at LW instead.
Edit: If Domi blocks the trade they could try moving on from Carlo who is injured more than Tanev is since being acquired. lol
Auston to LA is the move, he already has the tattoo, it's where he wants to play being from Arizona. Get Byfield, Doughty and another big physical player in return or a 1st. Auston has done nothing for 2 seasons, he's lost interest in playing for Toronto, it happens. LA needs a star, they will over pay so trade him now and save the season, win a cup. Tavarez gets the C back.
