It all starts the offensive line. When we lost ragnow and zietler i knew this season wouldnt live up to the last two years. I say, trade Jmo (any team would want a young fast 1,000 yd WR. and Teslaa is a legit WR 2 next year.) Trade Monty. Trade Laporta, even though thats the one i hate getting rid of. Trade Goff if possible. Trade Rodrigo. The compensstion we could get for these players alone. Have a strong draft. Pick up a couple crafty vets. Liins Superbowl window is still open for at least the next two years.

First of all The lions, well actually JaGoof Need a Offensive line. if you give Goff a OL he’s pretty good, we have seen that before when we still had a good OL, but he’s awful if pressured too much. last sunday reminded me of the eagles game. Goff had no time and he got out of rhythm and was playing bad. Also they cant run the football with no OL. 2nd of all they need staff changes. Ben is gone, and they NEED to find their next Ben Johnson. fire john morton and some other assistant coaches. Ben was alot of what was behind the genius of the lions management (Stafford-Goff trade anyone?) not just the play calling. Get a OC that can help Dan because Brad has not been enough. I dont think they are going to fire Calvin Shepherd, and I personally do like him and we just need to give him time to prove himself, but they maybe should. 3rd of all they need to draft better. Brad and maybe even Dan are trying to draft the best OVERALL talent or develop players. That just has not worked out. When you draft like that you get a super star you dont really need and alot of draft busts. Thats a high risk reward strategy that is how i think rebuilding teams should try to draft. Dan and Brad have done a good job at rebuilding but they aren’t rebuilding any more. they think they can retool purely in FA, but they really should just Draft proven, non injured, immediate impact players. alot of teams downfall is when players age out and regress. The teams core isn’t getting any younger and they need to retool right now or they are going to be the same old lions. 4th of all get a good defense. Historically A great defense and OL makes dynasties. this goes along with my 1st and 3rd points. OL first, then Defense. 5th of all they need to stay healthy. yes, health is hard to control, and if they could they would be in the super bowl. but while The lions football is all about Grit, 3rd stringers dont have much “Grit” when everyone else is injured. The Play style is partly to blame. The lions should play more conservative. now i know. I love the hyper aggressive style as well, but more field goals and less physical play is less taxing on players. It is not 2023, teams know lions are going for it on 4th down, and they are going to run and Play action, play man defense. all very predictable. The lions have been more conservative but only because they learned their lesson the hard way, or they dont trust a bunch of 3rd stringers. This took me like 20mins to write so thanks for reading. Thoughts?

Lions aren’t winning until they retool that offensive line. It’s clear against a good defense, you have to be able to dominate the line of scrimmage. The schedule next year will obviously be much easier. No excuses next year.
So when everyone is trashing the lions because they aren't good enough and not close, can we say that brad Holmes was right again because he didn't piss away future assets at the deadline? Can't have it both ways, if you think he could have made a move then we were very close. He knew this team wasn't it and thank God brad didn't do what the fans all wanted
