This team is looking to set up Ovi too much especially on the PP get… And please stop putting Ovi on the ice in ot he just stands around waiting for the puck to come to him
I was at the game in Detroit and Detroit was playing a man on man style that totally neutered the Caps offensive pushes. I feel like the Red Wings did a great job with their systems and their coaches simply outcoached the visiting team. Ethen Frank was very noticeable but big brother John Leonard really took it to the Caps. I feel like we really could have used Ryan Leonard these last 5 games.
I agree the GM over promised producing zero results. Expected OV to checkout after the OV tour last season. He's ready to move on. As it stands now, at best the Caps will make the playoffs but an early out. I have very low expectations for this team and I believe we are getting a glimpse of post OV era. Not good.
Yeah there's no guarantee with the Capitals as they took the lead in game 2 against Detroit just to lay an egg.

You’re making assumptions about Chris Patrick. For all we know, the general consensus of all the brass, including Mac and Leonsis, is to stay the course. Making a big trade these days has a bigger price tag than ever. Taking a gamble like that has to be at the right time, for the right price. Like I’ve said before, this is a weird year, with changes coming, more cap space, younger guys waiting in the wings. In my opinion, now is not the time to panic. If we’re smart we can build a great team for years to come.
They got to the net but still couldn't pound the puck home. It's one thing to beat up on a struggling Leafs team and another to take on the first place Atlantic division team! Can they trade for Tage Thompson? i think Carbs and BMac are right, this team needs elite scoring talent. When your D man is out scoring the top 6 forwards, you got a problem. It would ok if the top 6 were consistent but that ain't balanced scoring. ZERO consistency with this team. They forget to get to the net, screen the goalies, create chances. What is it? I know it's a long season and lulls will happen but the team is and can be so much better. But they aren't. Over a 7 game series, this Caps team will struggle and lose against good and elite teams in the playoffs. sigh
oh, and Tage Thompson has 18 goals already, 6'6" right handed center, willing to get to the net. And LT for the Hart trophy because he def keeps the Caps in the games.
kadri can bring consistancy and finish, we can add an old guy in this lineup, we only have ovi and carlson with age. seems caps still beleive in lapiere ( i hope he stays and the light goes on for him) i dont care about first round picks in the next two years we have a ton of good prospects lets get nhl players now
