As a British fan of the Canucks and hockey in general I fully understand that tanking to get good picks is a thing that happens. But the concept of it is still odd to me, I'm not sure if the skill gap between the best and worst guys in the league make it this way because if you don't do it every now and then you're so far adrift or if there's something else.

Lankinen stole this game, EP40 looked engaged and good. Boeser looked like he would struggle to keep up on family public skate. Debrusk scratch was warranted.

IMO you have to move one of Demko or Lankinen. Lots of teams need a goalie, and Canucks shouldnt be spending 12m+ during a rebuild.

Honestly. I am happy with the Hughes trade all things considered. Did we get a top tier player? No. Did we get 3 depth pieces that are helping our team more than 1 elite defenseman?
Yes, I think so. In terms of the totality of what they are bringing. I was skeptical at first, but all 3 guys are looking pretty good. Rossi really helped our center problems.
All i want is for the Canucks to make it into the playoffs and beat the oilers money, i could care less about the first pick, sand bagging is NOT a option!!!
