Chevys gonna pull his usual word salad. Lots of use of the words certainly and fluid. Not really saying anything of substance. Not sure why chipper lets him talk to the media as all it does is inflame the fan base. This has to be the worst group in pro sports in terms of putting out fires that are out of control around them. Just so tone deaf. A change in direction from top to bottom is so badly needed and the better do it before it gets worse
There’s no doubt the second iteration of the Winnipeg Jets has had its highs and lows. Sure those Jets qualified for a conference final but that was back in 2018, and they’ve only won two playoff series since. I don’t remember a season, during which I’ve watched these Jets, as bad as this one has so far turned out to be and is likely to turn out to be.
Great Episode, lot of good thoughts and analysis. One thing to mention, any crisis creates opportunities, which makes this season so fun. Unless front office is completely brain dead we will see some fun stuff in the rest of season. Not next game, but I expect things start to boil up when team is back home. Bring Stanley as a forward, lol. Could be fun to see him in this role. I know the idea is crazy, but season is gone anyway, why not to try some funny stuff? And fans will be excited to see this. -)
If the jets org doesn’t trade Stanley now, they are truly incompetent.
You nailed it last March, Harrison, when you talked about how Chevy totally fumbled the trade deadline. That was it. That was their chance. Instead Chevy chose stubbornness.
Chevy's situation is awkward, but it's not unprecedented. Merge his word salad with the best lines from a few older GMs ("going to the tape"). But.. this season needs to embrace The Tank – without ever admitting it, ofc.
I'm high on Gus I feel he can be a top9 player he is relatively young.
-Julien and Walton because size and were centers in OHL.
As for Jets I'm keeping/trading
Aside from main core.
1. Comrie I agree can go Divincentiis/Milic can swap up and down AHL.
2. Neidereitter trade I feel could get 2nd
3. Iafallo same a 2nd trade
4. Stanley is a good story he has changed but is 27 I could see a team desperate come deadline give up alot for this guy.
5. Namestnikov,Pearson,Nyquist,Schenn,Miller,Koepke haven't done alot if any interest trade them.
6. Perfetti I feel needs new start RFA negotiations won't go well on his part. If you can get a signed bigger player back do it. Like a Kyrou/Tippett types.
7. Samberg Ik he likely stays at least 2yrs more but last negotiations jets kind of low balled and at 5.75m til 29. Teams will pay huge package for this player.
8. Pionk I feel has to stay not because I like him. But he negotiated no trade in his contract at 7m per.
