Time to get rid of the GM . Maybe the Moose players would have that chance to play !! His acquisitions are not helping nobody. Need a whole new second line . They never did replace the speedy Ellers and why didn’t they !!
Chevy certainly has set a modern-day record for longest serving GM of a Canadian NHL team, with this season his 15th in that role. Any other existing counterpart of a Canadian NHL team began serving in that role no earlier than January 2022. Over that time span he has overseen one conference final appearance and, since then, two playoff series wins, with neither of those last two wins in consecutive seasons. A disastrous 2025 off-season set the Jets backward for who knows how many seasons. It’s astonishing he remains GM, and IDK what it will take for the Jets to fire him from his existing role. His presser proved his incompetence in that role.
If jets finish 1st tbh I feel similar to Wright vs Slavkovsky jets should take Stenberg over Mckenna. Why?
1. Mckenna left Medicine Hat to Penn state for the 700k. Now if he doesn't make jets or they try sending him up/down or say spend a season with Moose why would he when he's making 700k college or ask for a trade then go down Moose make 110k?
Plus in a world where guys are fake taught how to do media similar to Wright/McDavid Mckenna could think he's hot stuff/a*hole. Where Stenberg will be happy grow be in NHL have better attitude. Plus we have fellow swedes Gustafson,Boumedienne,Freijs,Wagner.
A guy I really want Jets to trade for is Marco Kasper he's 21 playing 4th line Detroit. Down year after from Austria but played junior Sweden.
As for Chevy I feel him and Chipman lost touch with city/team. They take 0 accountability and arnt willing make big moves. Just excuses

Fire Chevy. I like the guy, but results this year are doing the talking. We are on our 4th coach in like 6 years or whatever it's been since Maurice noped out mid season. Not a coaching problem. What has stayed the same throughout the mediocrity – the GM. GM is accountable for the poor draft and develop lately. Who has come up to the big team through the draft since Schefele-Connor-Morrisey-Hellebuyck? Nobody recent. Perfetti I guess but other than what looked like a break out last year he's back slid. The constant through all this is the GM – Fire the GM.
Kevin has a specialty in trading. His trades have been great but. His signings and roster management SUCKS!
Chipman will relocate the Jets to Kansas City before he would fire loyal lapdog Chevy.

I don't like what Chevyldayoff has done the past couple years, but if he ISN'T in full tank mode right now, then he's an absolute moron. Those under-performing vets and expiring contracts must be shipped out for much-needed upcoming picks, and Salo and Lambert have to be inserted. NOW. If he doesn't do that, then he is useless. BUT, will he be fired? Nope. He's not going anywhere. Chipman won't do it. EVER. Chevyldayoff suffers no ramifications to his actions and never will. He'll quit before he's removed.

Chipman has hung on to dedication far too long. He cannot make the big move to get another GM to steer the team in the right direction. I rather see them tank at this point. They need high draft picks to bring in new talent and speed
He never should have been hired. He knows NOTHING about building a winning roster. He's a politician that knows how to deal with contracts. That's all. Stan Bowman built the Hawks, NOT Chevy. So many mistakes. Too many to number. I've been saying he should have never been named the GM and so few agreed.
I feel like the jets can get hot again. Just need some younger players, younger base + veteran core is a great combo and hopefully they achieve it.

The thing that’s not talked about enough, is that we have two of the better leaders in the league in Lowry and Toews. And you’re telling me even with above average leadership, we can’t steer this group in the right direction? Somethings not right and with Scheifele snubbed from the Olympic roster and even the roster reserve spots, it tells me there’s a lot more to this story
There is no fight in this team. I've coached 12 year olds with more grit. There is no flow to there game. They have no system. Schenn looks like he's a hundred years old. Perfetti should be in the press box. where the Jets put him 2 years ago in the playoffs. Iafollo, Niederreiter, and Namestnikov look totally disinterested, and should be benched. And what is Cheveldayoff's response? NOTHING. He's not making any changes. So why do we need him? Let's get a GM who finds players with grit and toughness, instead of lightweights who want no part of the rough going, and who lose every one on one battle for the puck. And Arniel has clearly lost the room, so he has to go too.
I find myself confused by the lack of trust in guys like Salo/Chibi/Lambo…but all the trust in guys proving they aren't NHL regulars anymore like Toews/Nyquist/Schenn.

I don’t know why we would keep giving aging players huge contracts, when they can no longer play hockey. We are now the oldest team in the league. Get rid of everyone except for Sheifle, Hellebuck, Connor, Vilardi and Mourrisey. Otherwise I feel we should replace the rest with moose players.

Only one Top 10 draft pick since Laine(Perfetti), all mid-late 1st round picks and so far none have worked while Buffalo, San Jose and Chicago have stockpiled high-end talent. We need to draft some skilled young players before our aging core are out the door and I doubt Perfetti or any current prospects are good enough to top line this team in 5 years.
Being a middle-of-the-road team for a decade has crippled this team's future.
