None of the Habs games are available to watch in Alberta. They are blacked out for some strange reason. Instead, we get games involving teams like Detroit, Chicago, etc. It's rather pathetic. 😮

All great past Canadien teams started at the goaltender and worked out from there, their team defense won cups. Offense is nice, but defense is what playoffs are all about, just ask Edmonton & Toronto last year against Florida.
Currently, Montreal is +1, Florida is +28, Colorado +71, Dallas +30. Between their goaltending and defensive woes, Montreal's team defense is objectively worse than the top tier. At this point, Montreal is an early exit, if they want to win a round or two they have to tighten up. Guhle will help, but a better defensive commitment from the entire team is required.

Kapenen is the perfect fundamental style to compliment the two super wings.

Marco, Marco, Marco, why do you say such silly things like Demigod eventually being on the "1st line"? (as you'll see that's a bit of a joke so don't be offended). Having a 2-headed monster is EXACTLY what we want. Slafs/Demigod/Kapanen are thriving. Slafs is the new Peter Mahovolich (look him up kids) so there's no more we need to say about him. Demigod has also lifted his game and there just is no reason to move him. Lets see what Dach/Newhook bring to the 1st line as well. Ok, if/when Hage comes up IF he shows he belongs on the 1st/2nd line then maybe we have a 'problem' as to how to break out the top 2 lines so maybe not 'silly' to suggest Demigod on the 1st line but the kid line is SO damn dynamic and fun to watch that I'm looking forward to Slafs/Demigod grow to be a force of nature. Just look at that Kapanen goal, that's what we can continue to look forward to for years to come, no reason to mess with that. Anyway, just messing with you. Even being able to have this debate demonstrates how bright the future is.
We have 4 star players and Kapanen as a perfect complimentary role player.

Awesome for Canada that the American's are brain dead in terms of picking their team. Hutson would have been an absolute nightmare to defend, instead we get to 'worry' about Hanafin..what a joke. Caulfield was dissed but again 'good for Canada'.
Hage is excellent and brings lots of potential! He is at 3 years away from being a star. Let’s keep things in perspective. However I don’t know hi k he would have slid to 21 in the draft if he didn’t have a rough start after his dad’s untimely demise!
I agree with the goalie situation, Monty needs at least 2 'solid games' to allow moving Fowler back down. By solid, I don't mean he has to win, just don't give up the softy, this does require the team to play properly in front of him. I also agree with the Xhekaj observation, over 5 or 6 games he seems to have 'found himself', I finally see him turning in to that lock down, stay at home d-man, hit when the hit is there and otherwise just playing the 'big guy', shutdown game. If he can keep growing the rest of the season he makes it impossible to trade him other than almost 1-for-1 for a top 6 player.
Guys, while Hutson did sign a 'team friendly' contract, what I think also seems to be missed is we bought out 3 years of RFA status. Similarly Demidov will have 3 years of RFA after his ELC ends. So sure '$8.5/9M per' may seem like its 'significantly team friendly' but not nearly so much as it seems when you are buying out 3 years of RFA years.
We need Laine on the second power play . Keep in mind, without Laine last year we dont do the playoff.
Another great show guys, once again giving me options for 'debate' rather than just being your 'yes man'. Demidov is a LOCK for the Caulder, he's turned 1 corner in his play and once everyone starts yelling SHOOOOT in his ear he'll turn another. He's not going backwards, Slafs isn't and that's just scary for the rest of the NHL. And 'rest' over the Olympics? Seriously, he and Hutson will be on the ice every day other than when watching the games, those 2 guys don't know what 'rest' means. Still looking forward to Monty playing to his ".902 SV% self", that's all he needs to do, he'll get to play out his current contract and sign a lucrative ($5M per) somewhere else, no hard feelings. Sucks that MM is injured because of the Rat. Silver lining is that Engstrom gets some more responsibility to establish himself as a top4 D. If both Engstrom and Kapanen continue to show up then KH will have some trade capital to work with to build a package for a legit 2C when/if the time comes.

Fowler is the clear number 1, when it comes to Monty and Dobes, as long as Montembault hasn't proven on a long enough stretch that he's back to being slightly better than Dobes … both young guys are staying 1 and 2, luckily for him Dobes is playing better, but is inconsistent.
Meaning, Montembault will probably get a start over Dobes next time the number 2 should, the window is slightly open for him to climb back in the number 2 spot, if he seizes the opportunity.
Not interested in doing the 3 goalie thing for long, i hope this is settled at the trade deadline or sooner, its very counterproductive for all 3 of these guys to be in-between chairs, short, mid and long term.
