Furtheremore; the way these individuals have carried themselves for the last two years (I'm being genarous here), it says more about the quality of this team than talents, coaching, systems etc. ever will.
Like any adult knows; how you see yourself, carry yourself, love yourself; gets you further than your skills, talents, training and know-how. In other words, you can't have one without the other but one is the driver the other is not.
How you carry yourself is the driver! If you carry yourself with pride, swagger, confidence and deep passion for the people around you; your skills, talents, training will not only be amplified but finally realised. And it rubs on your mates too.
Example: Bratt. He's got an elite talent but carries himself like a miserable, sleep deprived ghost. No joy, no spark, no explosions: no real success.
This team is in shambles. Fritz needs to go. Trade, sell, release almost everyone on this roster. This is madness.

Keeping Markstrom in was a choice for sure but I don’t put this on Keefe. This is almost entirely on GM. Since 22-23 rather than building around our teams strengths with complimentary players, we have continued to make the team worse and slower and more ineffective. These guys are not even more physical. We have too many players collecting paychecks and past their prime but on prime player contracts and no youth in the system to even try because our drafting and development has been so poor. Look at Utica as well. How we could be so bad so long and still be this bad at every level is confounding. There is no vision. At least when Shero was here, whether you like it or not, they went for players who were fast, attacking, supportive and that was their thing, our GM can’t identify talent and can effectively manage his own cap situation.
You know the corporate strategy of pluses and minuses? Corporate owners need losing businesses to cancel out winning ones in order to NOT pay taxes. Looks like Corporate is sacrificing the NJ Devils. Meaning, C-Suite does NOT care if the Devils win. In short: C-Suite wants the NJ Devils to lose. 🤬🤬🤬
