  1. Alot of high scoring games accross. The league last night. 76 total goals scored. But what a dominant game for isles.

  2. Good 🌅, Gil. How are you? WHAT A GAME, WHAT A GAME, WHAT A GAME Anthony DuClair had a natural 4:11 🎩 trick and 2 assists in running the 👿 out of UBS Arena. You're right. you wouldn't know Ilya Sorokin was out of action. It was a fun 🌙 all around. Hero, Anthony DuClair for his 🎩 trick. 🐐 The Islanders gave up way too many shots. Luckily, Sorokin was on top of his game. I hope they don't have a let down, especially since they're going on the road. Patrick Roy's gonna need to stay on a consistent level. HAPPY 🎂, BRENT SOEFUL. He scored a goal in a win over the Rangers. Hear from you later, Gil, having too much
fun last 🌙, so I couldn't do comparisons. Bo Horvat is going with the Islanders on the road trip. Now, LET'S GO ISLANDERS.

  3. I think 🤔 it was a career night for Sir Dukie! Yes, he now has had 4 hat 🎩 tricks in his career but has Duke 🤴 ever had a 5 point game? I think that is a first! Congratulations 🎊🍾 Dukie! Next Congratulations 🎊🎈🍾 🎉 to our SoroKing all time franchise shutout leader! Awesome 🤩! You could see Schaefer was still not feeling well! Pale and no energy hopefully he feels better soon! We can’t afford to back off the gas ⛽️ with The Flyers breathing 😮‍💨 down our necks! This road trip is not like the last as we face teams having bad seasons compared to the last road trip playing the best teams! We have to stay Hungry!!!!! I am thinking we are getting lucky with that 6 th inexperienced rotating D man! I don’t know how Logan Stanley as a defender but at 6 foot 7 tough guy we certainly could use on the left side. We must protect Schaefer! We can’t afford to lose star ⭐️ players to goons who target 🎯 stars! Stanley is a UFA at a reasonable 1.25 current pay. I don’t think the Jets would mind a Tsyplakov for Stanley type of a deal perhaps even a possible expanded deal . We need to get bigger, stronger, nastier if we are going to make a playoff run. Stanley seems like a fit we can’t ignore. Klapka from the Flames 🔥 might also be a consideration . Side notes 📝 when Tom Brady wants you to help push his clothing line you know you are a special player . Schaefer could be cashing in 4 sure with Brady! A

  4. Considering Bo Horvat was out, this was a total collective effort. I just hope they save some goals for the long road trip ahead…. Go Isles!!

  5. Noting special Soroking like Chinese wall….9 gold on 20 shuts ..don't forget we got 7 from Utah…stay calm just 2 points
    Devils goalie suck😂

  6. Speaking of 'Duke' this was like watching Rocky 4…"Throw the towel… Throw the damn towel! ….Noooooo!".. "What started off as a joke, has turned into a disaster". Definitely the most enjoyable NYI regular season game since 2-11-11 when the Islanders so thoroughly humiliated the Penguins that Mario Lemieux questioned whether he wanted to be associated with Hockey anymore.(tbf-Mario was just getting over PTSD issues from 93' Playoffs.."Get off me Darius! Stop cross checking me! Ref! Help! Help! Help!".."Its okay Mario, it was just a nightmare. Don't worry baby. It's okay, go back to sleep. Kasparitis isn't here, it's just me, your loving wife. You're safe now..Okay baby, I know, I'll check under the bed for you. No, Darius isn't under the bed. I know, I know, your back is still sore. I'll rub it as you go back to sleep"

  7. Aitcheson played only about 8 mins per game on the 3rd pairing, which I think that was a bad coaching decision and it affected him some.
Eiserman was relatively disappointing with some of his decision making, including a dumb drop pass that led to a goal. To his defense, he was on THE 4TH line with McKinney (who is a mid round pick who played poorly) and Bednarik (who has to drastically improve his skating or add a lot of bulk, or else he is going nowhere).

  8. Both you and Gil know that Duke has tremendous potential as a top offensive contributor—something the Islanders desperately need. If Roy deploys him properly and puts him in the right situations, there’s every reason to believe he can get back to being a 20–25 goal scorer. With consistent linemates, power‑play time, and a defined role, he could easily rediscover the confidence and rhythm that made him so effective earlier in his career. Sorokin was amazing last night! LGI

  9. Always like The ESPN coverage! The camera work always seems clearer and more Vivid! Steve Levey a native Long Island guy grew up watching the Islanders during the Cup Years and AJ always is great! Really like what they bring in the Broadcast. Just have to give them props for the Great work they Do.

  10. Historic night for franchise records but best of all two points against a Metro Division opponent. Keep moving forward — it's going to be a dogfight to the end to keep a playoff spot. I do feel bad for Devils fans, but we have been there.

  11. Gm Gil. For all the goals, we should pay attention to how porous the Isles defense was in terms of the # of shots Sorokin faced. But, it was a joy seeing Duclair get a hat trick. The coming road trip is going to be critical for the trajectory for the remainder of the season. LGI

  12. WOW!!!!!!!!! Another shutout for Sorokin. Our defense, and offense, was running on all cylinders tonight. I have to give a hat tip to a player I don't particularly like. Duclair was a +6 tonight. A hat trick and two assists. Definitely got the message from Roy, what with being benched the past few games and deservedly so as, unlike tonight, Duclair for the most part has been nonexistent this season. What is going on with New Jersey? A no show against a cross two rivers rival and sinking fast. Morale was definitely down this evening on the NJ side. Matthew Schaefer treated his illness with some Matzah Ball Soup. Picking up another point with an assist. The kid is a trooper for playing sick. If i'm not mistaken, Pelech and Pulock were both +3 tonight. Holmstrom's goal was wicked. HIs long arms helped Simon wrap the puck in the net. Did NJ's defense leave Markstrom out to dry all evening or what?

  13. Just like Roy back in the day, I would be so mad if I were Markstrom being left out to dry. Classless move by Keefe.

  14. You could see the weight drop from Duclair’s shoulders after thar third goal. It is amazing how good these players look when they function properly within Roy’s system. All I can say about Sarokin is that if he stays healthy, he can win a cup for this team.

  15. Great to see the offense break through, especially when we’re missing Horvat and Palms. Players needed to step up, and they did.

  16. Duke's game was amazing, but Sorokin's game was lights out! Got the shutout, and the lead in franchise shutouts. The franchise mark, in my mind, makes him #1 Star.

What's funny, is after Sorokin made his triple save, I said … "F**K! Give them the Cup now" then a bit later P.K. Suban on the ESPN broadcast said basically the same thing.

And, you are correct! Skating was the difference! They kept their foot on the gas the whole time. In previous games, they've gotten two goals, and then sat back and tried to defense their way to a win … even when they got the two goals early. Last night, they got the two goals, and kept going!

But, you're also correct in that part of the 9-0 was due to the Devils being flatter than a collapsed flan in a cupboard.

I was listening for the "DOUBLE CHILI!" chant, but didn't hear it! 😢

Also sad for McWard … what's strange to me is they reviewed the goal, and added an assist to him. Then reviewed it again, and took it away. Why the second review?

As for the WJC … Eklund (reminded me of Gallagher) and Pelotin (reminded me of a good blend of Lee and Cizikas) stood out. Aitchenson was okay (he impressed me with his calm on puck). But, yeah, Eiserman and Bednarik were kinda meh.

  17. GIL!!!

I wrote this is the wrong comment…. Why am I hearing isles are willing to give up Cole Eiserman for Stamkos!! Yes I 1000% want stamkos but don’t touch our prospects!!! Give them Avalanche’s 1st rounder and that’s about it. We’d be taking on 3 years 24M which is a lot for a 35 year old. Thoughts? Thanks Gil #LGI
