  1. It was a great battle between the two, but I think after the season, it is very likely that Reaves will retire, he was a great fighter in the last decade after the absence of the best like McGrattan and Orr, but pity that after the first defeat suffered by Lowry in his first fight he was no longer the same, since Olivier without a doubt is the number 1 of the NHL, I hope the rematch against the Deslauriers

  2. Been watching Reaves since he first came into the league and have never seen him go down like that. Reaves is nearing the end of his career and this fight almost felt like a "passing of the torch" sort of thing, because Olivier is definitely the best fighter now.

  3. Great fight but it's the first time i've seen Reaves cleanly beaten or knocked down. With Deslauriers in his mid 30's and Rempe just a punching bag Olivier will be able to concentrate on being a legitimate 3rd line Pwr Fwd putting up 30+ pts plus fighting maybe 10 or 11 times per year. Once Reaves, Deslauriers and a few others retire in the next 2-3 years there will be nowhere but the AHL for guys like Rempe to go as a handfull of points and noone to fight makes him redundant.

  4. I am a huge fan of Reaves and how he has carried himself throughout his career. His father was all class too. He has brought a lot to the game and the fans over the year. No accident that he seemed to always be loved by his teammates.

Olivier has turned himself into both a really solid fighter, but also leader who can play at both ends of the ice. It is great to see his evolution and the value he now brings.

  5. Reaves was never a good fighter.. He would overwhelm others but a good fighter will always expose him..

Reaves needs to learn never turn away from a punch. Way better to take a punch in the teeth than the back of the melon. Getting hit behind the ear the worst thing that can happen

  6. Wtf is this moronic homer announcer talking about? Elbow? Reaves got clocked, plain and simple. You fight enough you’re bound to get caught eventually

  7. Not one post about the class shown by Olivier? Clearly has respect for rusty and old Reaves who stood toe to toe with him unlike many of the tough guys left in the league. Takes balls esp when you're almost 40.

  8. remember good old days when both guys would take helmets off too lol? feel like Reaves is always at a disadvantage cuz hes the only guy without a visor lol

  9. Fantastic fight very entertaining and tip of the hat to Olivier who happens to be the best fighter in the league now to protect Ryan Reeves very classy the thing that stands out is the commentators practically fell asleep it must have been a national broadcast because they had absolutely no idea what was going on and had no intention to call the fight

  10. It's like watching rock 'em sock 'em robots, not a single jab or block to be seen, just punching each other until Reaves fell over. Olivier's got one tough face, that's for sure.

  11. OIivier is the most respectful fighter in the league. He always makes sure his visor is tilted up the moment he drops the gloves, you rarely see anyone else do that. He also stuck around to make sure Reaves was okay because he knew he caught him good with the back of his hand/arm.

  12. That certainly solidifies Olivier as the Number one Heavyweight in the league. Give Reaver a lot of credit though, he was Moby Dick in a gold fish bowl for years now all the young guns are trying to take him off the mantle. Look for a re match march 28th. GO sharks!

  13. Olivier held Reaves up after th3 ko punch and prevented him from smashing his head off the ice. Olivier is a phenomenal guy.

  14. Olivier is nasty in Reaves is too they both work on that craft in the off-season you can tell plus I’ve seen them work on fighting in the office. When Olivier beat Rempe so bad and trust me I’m a Rangers fan. I knew he was a bad boy.
