Not a chance the NHL comes back here for the next expansion or the one after. Too many untapped markets that are closer to ready than we are and aren’t already tainted in the eyes of the league. Our only hope would be to be one of the 35th-36th team and that’s at least 10 years away. It ain’t happening any time soon.

Next round of expansion in 3-4 years is out. That leaves the one after that as the first possibility. So at a minimum we are looking at around a decade from now. You don’t have to like that, but that’s the reality.

That would be cool. But I fear the old folks who for some reason have a say in anything and would rather have a landfill next to them, will make fun of and push them out again. I personally am so sick and tired of gross residents acting like hockey is the worst thing in the world. One of my most hated phrases ever uttered in the history of the English language is “hockey doesn’t belong in the desert” like it genuinely makes my blood boil. Because wtf do they think VGK is
