Who do you build this team around in a retool?
I keep hearing of Drury's management style… so what exactly did he do?
He sent a player with a $6m contract to go play elsewhere.

FACT IS ever since Trouba threw his helmet in disgust, this team has shown no heart.

Why would you trade Trocheck with 5,6M, he is playing 4 ”free”. Also you need to something to build on. And Rangers can come back next year if they make smart moves. Panarin out, Lafreniere out, Schneider out, Soucy out, Sheary out, We aint getting any Marco Kasper or Quinton Byfield. Its gonna be something like Scott Morrow again and thats no needed, he aint even athlete. Panarin <—> Cole Hutson. And Ziba he has played full seasons since 17-18: 72, 82, 57 (covid), 56(covid) 81, 82,81,82 and this season havent been out. I also wouldnt trade him. Obviosly that center line aint that dynamic and flashy as it should be, but also you aint getting any Cutter Gauthiers from trading these guys. Panarin you can get something big, IF he is ready to sign and engage with the new team. Just as a rental that return can be savage, if he got only one or couple spots where he s willing to move. If theres a way to get Leonard or Cauthier, even we need to bring something else to the table, i’d push hard 4 it. But obviously we do know that Drury is going to make something bad and booring.

all of this would be much, much easier if there wasn't JT as a brake, around whom a quickly successful team should be built. Fox and Shesty can wait a few years, JT can't really. we could just sell all of Panarin, Trocheck, Soucy, Lafreniere, Schneider and take value in. And aim for success in 3-4 years.

Apart from the fact a mini retool is a ridiculous term, the retooling under Drury has gone so fantastically well up till now.

Unless they win at least 8 of their next 10 it's done, and we know the odds of that happening. If they trade Panarin I have no problem keeping Mika, but then they'd have to trade Trocheck and a couple more of the vets but Trockeck's the only other appreciable return unless I'm forgetting someone. Then use those assets for fast hard players. That's the direction the team wants to go, should be pretty basic arithmetic for Drury. They have to have something in the team if they have any hope of luring in a J. Roberson, I mean why would a guy like that sign with a loser.
And Zjbanejad is smoke and mirrors. Still looks far better on the power play, and for someone who is supposedly such a great two way forward, at even strength he looks poor defensively and not exactly McDavid in the offensive zone.
If Drury gets nothing done he should get fired
This is Rangers they only did full rebuild 1 time. Zibanejad can stay because he is not really the problem. Even Shesterkin is likely to not be traded.

Dolan and Drury are a disaster. The trades and drafting/development of young players are the worst in the league.

Drury is a disaster, traded away 28 picks for virtually no return.
All the issues started under Drury's failed leadership, he systematically dismantled one of the best teams. He needs to be terminated and Mark MESSIER should be given the reins.
