Bouchard would also be behind Toews in my opinion
Surely Hughes is clearly better than Bouchard? I would probably take Dahlin over him too.
Wild’s in the wrong spot here. Avs got the #1 by a mile, but Quinn dead inside Hughes is better than Bouchard.
All the teams in questionable should be in No.

While I love that Cale’s greatness is being respected here this is the sort of post that makes these subreddits so dorky.
If you think it’s even close to a debate that Hughes/Werenski/Hutson aren’t more valuable than Bouchard you just don’t know puck at all.
Move them all into the easy no category as well.
(I’d also take Morissey, Fox and Heiskanen over Bouchard as well but I respect an argument either way there)
Most overrated defenseman in the NHL, not even close. Sure, he puts up numbers, but he’s not just bad at defending, he straight up ignores it. I’d take Q. Hughes, Heiskanen, Werenski, Seider, Fox, Sergachev, McAvoy, Dahlin, Theodore, Toews, Forsling, Slavin, and Chychrun over Bouchard right now. And Hutson and Schaefer are close to overtaking him.
The Oilers’ dependence on Bouchard to play big minutes every night is a big reason why their team defense is such a nightmare.
Bouchard is a complete fraud. He’s a McDrai merchant who pads his offensive stats with them but doesn’t even earn his keep with the basest of defensive play. I wouldn’t even put him in the top 5 Dmen in the league. Maybe not even top 10.
