  1. As Oilers fans we are way too naive in assuming they make the playoffs. The current standings are being impacted a lot by the fact that Edmonton has played 2 or 3 more games than everyone behind them. The four teams behind them in their division will all pass them if they win out their games in hand. The Oil are nowhere near a lock for playoffs if they don't come back from the Olympic break on a heater.

  2. I’m getting to the point where if the Oilers brass continues to be hesitant to make needed changes in roster construction and coaching staff, they’ll be forced to after an embarrassing playoff exit. Not gonna be mad if they continue to be dumb.

  3. We are so lucky that we are in the weakest division. We wouldn't make it in the east. And would barely make it in the central.

  4. I'm a Penguin fan, and happy for the win but, honestly, the talent on the Oilers is incredible.

McDavid and Draisaitl remind me of Crosby and Malkin, and Lemieux and Jagr for that matter, in their primes. (You really just hope(d) to contain them because they (McDavid and Draisaitl) are so good and the Pens did a good job of that.)

Objectively, what I saw, is that the structure the Oilers played was flawed (a blast to watch those because it was a lot of back and forth hockey) but a lack of defensive structure, nonetheless.

Yes, the Oilers absolutely are a Stanley Cup contender BUT they need a more detailed defensive system, in my opinion if they want to get back to the promise land.

The offensive talent on your team, without question, is fantastic!

  5. I don't think starting Jarry was the right call. Had Jarry not started I think this would of been a completely different game. After letting in 3 goals within 3 minutes the team morale was long gone.

  6. Pickard on waivers, Knoblauch relieved of job, defensive coach relived, Chaulk up from Bakersfied , Coffey out of office , Mangiapane on waivers, need fresh outlook on where this team is going. Knobs has lost this team ,Ragula waived , Brown up from Bakersfield for some sand paper, Bowman has to do something urgently,as we are on verge of not even making playoffs, everyone has games in hand in the division.

  7. Kinda ironic how the Canadian teams get beat out by American teams every year. That’s like Brazil starting a soccer team and loosing every year to Alabama.

  8. I think every scout in the league by now knows to get a guy between the defence when oil are in the O zone and its a free breakaway and often a goal. Why doesn't knob know this and change the strategy? Brain dead coach. Get rid of this guy already.

  9. 3 goals in 37 seconds… and the toxic fans are still blaming the goalie specifically Skinner.

Skinner didn’t even get cooked this hard at his worst — and this isn’t on Jarry either.

  10. The biggest problem I have with the timeout, is that they immediately took the timeout. I remember the time when Vancouver took like a million years to decide to challenge. The NHL gives you a little bit of time to decide. Why was Knaublach taking his timeout right away?

  12. What problem? The Oilers solved all their problems when they traded Skinner away, and now everything is all better. Isn't that what Edmonton fans wanted. Oh wait. Bowman and Garlic are destroying this team, meanwhile, top players can't even perform at an adequate level, but the solution is to churn through goaltenders? Man, I really hope we get one who can score, then.

  13. They can go on a run, but, they will save the run for the play offs. 16 game win streak for the cup. 💙🧡

  14. Commented on an earlier Oilers video when fans were getting all excited that the team beat the NHL skid marks known as the Canucks and Blues that the celebrations were a bit premature. Oilers can't beat a playoff bound team.

  15. You should buy one of those scream pillows so you can scream without scaring your cats and neighbors

  16. I lasted until it was 2-0. It was obvious by that point I was putting more effort in listening to the radio while laid out on my sofa than the team were on the ice.

  17. extremely annoying that the Oilers can never seem to be ready to go to start the games. Slow, sluggish, chasing the puck is a recipe to lose. I can't blame Jarry for the goals unless the expectation is that he stops breakaways, deflections, cross ice tip ins. Just abysmal defense Oilers and it is January!

  18. Fire knob. HE SHOULD HAVE PULLED JARRY. Anyone see that he destroyed pickard? He destroyed pickard. Now hes going to destroy Jarry. He is a cancer in 10 different ways.

  19. AHAHAHA 😂😂😂 EDMONTON I INTRODUCE YOU TO SECOND HALF OF THE SEASON TRISTAN JARRY 🤣🤣 Y'all got duped 😂 Tristan Jarry isn't good once January comes thanks for skinner!!!! 😂😂

  20. Pens fan here. Thank you algorithm! Last night? I'd like to say that was the Pens at their best. Some big neutral zone mistakes (Edm) with solid play making (Pit). Some opportunities seemed to open for Edmonton then a penguins body or stick got in the right spot.

  21. They all looked lethargic, unmotivated, slow and out of structure and confidence. No biggie if they make the playoffs as pacific is total garbage group as you already said. They are not winning anything though regardless.

  22. I’m not even surprised anymore. This is the bs I thought we’d see last season. Unless this shit ends now, and it means NOW, this team is cooked. No playoffs, or if they make it, they are out first or second round.

  23. Austin, you seem to be the ONLY Oilers related channel that makes sense. This team is toast. They are not even fun to watch anymore, i turned it off at 3-0. This team lost any hope to win a cup when they signed Nurse to that monster contract. Then lost 2 great young players for nothing. Then doubled down with Frederic, Mangi and a bunch of other clowns. The forwards cant play defense for shit, defenseman cant defend. issues all over the place…

  24. My concern mostly is for the people that pay big money, and some really don’t have that much, to go there in person and watch. If you lose, you lose, but to put in such feeble efforts and like you say not playing the younger or newer guys, is pathetic!

  25. Add to this the fact that they cant string 3 good games together….what does it spell? This team has developed too much pride on coming back. They have focused on this so much that the only way they can have fun and be happy with thier efforts is if they come from behind…in a period, in a game, in a season and worst of all in a series. If they took half the amount of pride in being a dominant team as they do in a team capable of coming back they would be president trophy and Stanley cup champs. Instead, they almost never play a full 60 minutes. Almost never blow another team out of the building(even more so if its a bottom feeder team that they should blow out).

If connor actually wants to win a cup he's going to have to make a choice about it being ok to beat the brakes off another team playing from the opening drop to the end of the game and create that killer insticnt on this team rather than the family, friendly team that can always come back from a deficit.

  26. boy its so fun being a flames fan watching yall waste so many first round draft picks

mcdavid aint getting a cup in Edmonton, yall's solution is tristan jarry and vets.
