I’d love to see longer winning streak than two games in the row Canadiens!
PP focuses way too much on one side. Last night Demidov was wide open alone and Hutson kept with the hot potato with Susi/Caulfield
Stop with the complaining about penalties. Such a weak way to sulk about a loss
Dobson was absolutely pathetic the way he played defence trying to stop the buffalo guy from scoring. He did absolutely nothing that guy is highly overrated. No wonder his previous team dumped him. Montreal’s defence is soft soft soft soft Matheson and Dobson are also pathetic on the power-play from the point using wrist shots did they not know how to use a slap shot pathetic car is too small. The team is bunch of pussies. There’s no rough tough players Buffalo is big and pressure them when the Canadiens play defence on the power play against them they don’t put pressure on the opposition. Please stand around and blame Marty McFly for that should be a zone defense. Montreal cannot play against a big team that has some wheels. My prediction is are going to go on a losing streak. The teams say face are just too tough for them. A good percentage of the players will be gone hopefully by the time Montreal is an actual contender for the cup.
Two games in a row Struble could of cost us the win. We lucked out to come back in the Minnesota game. The guy is garbage get rid of him MSL is a moron to play him especially when Hutson has to accommodate the ECHL player by being on the right side. Hutson had his worse game I have seen this year he is one of the best players on the ice game in game out but dumb MSL messes that up by moving him to the right for shitty Struble.
MSL is to blame he messes up the defense pairings Arber was playing well then got scratched because they want to blame him for the Ottawa goal where it was Carriere that lost his opponent. Arber makes mistakes some times but so do the other defense. If Arber makes a bad pass that gets intercepted he gets benched watch the games I see every single dman make bad passes they just don't get benched for it.
Kapanen is elite without the puck, great defensively, good forechecker along the boards, is good at faceoffs, finds the soft ice at the right time and has a great shot release
he has been very fortunate to play with 2 1st line wingers which you can call Slaf & Demidov
With the puck he’s no better than Danault or Evans or even less so than Veleno
I wasn’t a fan of Newhook – Kapanen – Demidov because you had 2 players that aren’t very good with the puck on their sticks and Demidov was getting run down trying to do all the play making…
Could you see a world where Kapanen goes to Laval ? Playing a Danualt or Veleno on line 2, sending Kapanen would keep everyone here and let’s Tecier back in line up
Right now Veleno deserves to play over Kapanen
If not I wouldn’t even bat an eye if Kapanen got packaged for a legit 2C
A 2C that is as good with the puck as he is without it – something a 2C needs to be
There isn’t soft ice in the playoffs and I against bigger teams or 1st lines with heavy bodies like Buffalo Slaf should slot back in with Caufield & Suzuki
Could run
Caufield – Suzuki – Slaf
Dach – Veleno – Demidov
Gally -Danault – Bolduc
Andy – Evans – Texier
In my opinion you could play any responsible center with Slaf & Demi and the line wouldn’t suffer
The Canadiens are inching closer to a Wild Card spot. 😮
Would something like this work:
To Carolina:
• Patrik Laine (50% salary retained)
• 2026 NJD 4th-round pick
• 2026 CAR 7th-round pick
To Montreal:
• Ryan Suzuki
• Charles-Alexis Legault
Kap, Guhle, and a 1st for Robert Thomas all day. I'd even sweaten that deal, Thomas is the perfect age and fit for this team and we have way to many players.
Right now I would definitely start 72 over Struble
Counting on Dach is just plain silly
Why don't we hear this talk when Dobes gives up 3 goals??? It's the same narrative, it just depends which goalie plays, if its Fowler or Monty, its the defense, if its Dobes its all on HIM! Habs please trade Dobes, I want him to win a Cup. But Habs fans will say it was the team in front of him that won the Cup LOL!
Bolduc reminds me of Lars Eller …When he plays chippy and aggressive he scores more and seems to engage more …when he played PHYSICAL..!! GHG ..!!
Valeno in line up but not texier!! WTF !!!!!!!!
Last year, when Laine came back, he single-handedly reinvigorated the power play. I'd say he should have a spot in the lineup to at least see if he can do it again.
I had to look it up but it appears Laine has a modified no-trade clause…so here's a thought, if we can't make a trade we CAN waive him! That may seem harsh but unlike Galli he's not ''beloved' in MTL, its not 'punishing' him as there's little doubt someone would claim him its just a clear money & roster space move. Its not a signal to any current or future players that MTL won't have your back. Again, just a random thought if he can't be traded.
These talks that MSL have with the players during training are very effective.
Hmm, I have to say I'm more than a little surprised that Marco's take on last nights game wasn't more brutal. It wasn't just the start, but even focusing on that, how the team could play almost a perfect game against Minny, have played Buffalo a week ago and thus know how they play, and then come out so flat & discombobulated is unconscionable. Clearly a much better 2nd but I wouldn't say we 'won' the 3rd as much as Buffalo demonstrated what the Habs still haven't learned, how to finish off a game with a lead. Heck Buffalo had the best scoring chance in the 3rd and it came off yet another putrid PP, if it wasn't for Monty that game would have ended right then and there so I don't want to hear about how bad Monty was. Disappointed doesn't come close to how I feel after watching that game.
Zachary needs to get his nose dirty That's how he's going to be a better player He's got to get in there he can't be a pretty boy on the ice He's got to get in there and muck it up and work hard he can learn something from Gallagher
Have to say, Struble is playing worse and worse. On that 3rd Sabres goal, he just stood there and watched like a Leafs player . Bringing in Arber can increase a deterrent to even come into the zone. Without having that deterrent, it tells other teams to glide into their zone and take the low slot with ease. I already knew that the Habs were doing too much perimeter passing which is weak vs a zone defense. There is almost nothing going to the bumper and they are not freeing up the middle of the ice. Also, the bumper is useless if no one screening the goalie (you need Slaf in front of the goalie, why is Caufield having to do this?)
Thomas for Hage, Reinbacher and a first right now and let's go all-in while Suzuki is signed cheap.
Marco wants to coach a team some day
Sabres and teams like them have exposed the habs weaknesses.. size , no shut down D , no net front presence.
All I hear is over reaction to reinbaucher he 20 big guys take time lol hedman was a bust and I had to defend him for years so relax
The goalie has to win some games for a team to be successful
