I guess you can’t lose a 100 point per season player and still be as good as you were… I was a big advocate of the leafs trading Mitch Marner, but they needed to replace him with somebody someone comparable instead of a few depth players. If the leafs make the playoffs this year, I will be surprised.

Steve….I would say as to Matthews….he is elite as a 1C as oppose to 2C but he does rhe same….he can be an Ovechkin and just stay on the side and wait but he doesnt. He tries to stay open but also float the play…but at the end of all that (Marner excluded) he excludes a leader and his marks may go down but balance with the others
