Trade Tuch. With a rising salary cap top 6 forwards are rare & he will allow Buffalo to improve their weak areas (faceoff, PP, bottom defensive depth). Josh Doan should be the priority over Tuch. Benson is also a RFA. Krebs & Kesselring (both won't cost much) are also RFAs. Dunne should also be resigned.
Term of 8 years is the issue with Tuch. Been burned many times before. I would say shorter term and ok!

Any team that signs Tuch for $10+ million and more than 6 years will deeply regret it. Would Tuch sign a 4 year contract? No chance! Why won't he? Because nobody in the league would sign him again in 4 years for that kind of money. He wants to lock in a huge salary for the last four years when even he knows he won't be worth it. If this is true, it would make no sense to give him that much money for 8 years!!!! The last four years he will be overpaid by at least 50%. The prudent thing to do for Buffalo is to trade him ASAP. It's the smart move strategically.

Tuch has to be retained, number ONE. After that, I’m giving Jarmo three years to rebuild the team any way he wants. But for him to trade away Tuch, a player that loves playing in Buffalo, makes no sense to me whatsoever.
