Flyers rarely have the lead, but when they do they have no idea how to play. Defense is weak. They are small and get pushed around. Sanheim got beat several times at crucial moments. He has size but plays small (i.e. Andrae). Time to dump Hathaway and Coots.
Controversial opinion, but the Juulsen penalty in the 3rd was completely unnecessary. I know Hartnell was all rah-rah about it, and I’m sure Tocchet was applauding on the bench, but that was not the time or place for that penalty and that’s what lead to goal #3. It wasn’t even a bad hit on Drysdale.

this team just does not have enough talent . done with briere n jones . luchanko; not buium ? lose gauthier ? is plan to draft size and no talent or grit ? or to draft smurfs with a little bit of talent( bedard lite )….if they can fix games in every sport; why not hockey drafts . only way out is "mistake proof" draft positions for next 3 years.

Everyone needs to realize how devoid of talent this team is. We have four players worth keeping. Three are prospects. The rest are mediocre with huge inflated contracts with NTCs… we have to move on from the vast majority of this roster.
hathaway play demonstrates just how perfeft this has to play to get a regluation. and that says to me this roster will under construction indefinately. there is no fucking positives
disagree with all the roster critics. To me they have alot of very good players, but are lacking elite talent. They are filled with alot of 2nd and third line forwards and good second pair type defensemen. But no star forwards, although TK is very good, and they just don't have a 1D with superior offensive skill.
The play of Sanheim, thats why I like 3 def. Lefty and 3def. Righty much easier on the strong side
Tocchet's post game was spot on. I think for most of these players there is too much water under the bridge, and they are never going to change. And this is now the 3rd time the Flyers have had a multi goal lead on the road at the start of the game and gave it up. They lost in OT versus the Islanders, and the almost lost to Montreal.
Sanheim should have taken Keller the boards at the end there, he's just not physical enough. And Ersson caved into his own net on that 4th goal instead of stepping out and poke checking the puck. That was a very savable play. Ersson as usual can't make the big save at the big time for his team.
You mention that the Flyers seem to get pushed around. If the Flyers were a bigger team, that wouldn’t happen as much. When a Flyer throws a check, more often than not, they just bounce off the opposing player. Need to get some bigger guys on the team. And as far as Ersson goes, I’ve seen enough. He needs to make the critical stop at least SOME of the time. He makes the bog standard saves that he’s expected to, but he never seems to make that really big save when the pressure is on. The Flyers need to move him this summer. Enough of Ersson already.
That was an epic collapse. It was amazing to watch.
