I think he did it with good intentions and meant it.
But, every player knows refs won’t admit they are wrong so trying to wave it off just makes you look good and still get the PP.

Didn’t Makar do this and the refs listened to him?

He’s the next Crosby. I love to see it.

Announcer said it at the very end, he doesn’t want to known as the guy who sells things.
That’s true, leave the diving and embellishment to the veterans.

It’s so funny that Celebrini has such integrity especially in a game against Mcdiving.

Did he flinch from the stick coming up? His head jerked back like it was hit. Maybe he waived it off to avoid getting an unsportsmanlike penalty for embellishment?
No shade but this may not be an act of pure sportsmanship, and might just be protecting his team from what looked like an embellishment penalty.

That was really good sportsmanship by Macklin Celebrini.
I love this fucking kid. Canada will be well represented for years to come.
This is cringe. Just take it and move on
Absolutely a role model for younger generation
His parents should be proud!
You would think his sportsmanship is also buying goodwill with refs that will come in handy when needed
BIG yikes for the refs still choosing to call that
Instantly a huge fan of the kid for doing this. Lots of guys would just shrug and steal one.
Fantilli did this and they called a penalty on him for unsportsmanlike conduct. https://thescore.com/nhl/news/2760428
