   Trading him would guarantee that the Wild don’t win a Stanley Cup anytime soon. You don’t trade away goalies like him. He should be an untouchable.

   He’s not being traded. It’s a tactic to generate more calls from other GMs.

   “Nah, I wouldn’t trade Wallstedt for Jenner and a top-10 protected first. Jenner is gonna re-sign in Columbus anyway, so he’d be just a rental.

   “Tell ya what. What I would do is Coyle for Soini and a conditional 2028 third that goes to a second if Coyle re-signs with us. You need a right-handed defensive defenseman who could complement Mateychuk down the road. He’s a good guy and a good defender—and he’s a couple of years away, so you don’t have to worry about juggling your right side. When he’s ready he’ll slide right in and replace Fabbro or Severson, so you won’t have to blow assets to get rid of someone. And if you do, well, you’ll have the 2028 pick to give somebody.”
