  1. It was time. He was just in the press box every game. Let him play somewhere, let him go. He served his role for a while but he ran his course. Will be remembered for his time none the less.

  2. Pickard was the backbone of the team as Skinner was failing and what does he get? No respect. Horrible management. The same geniuses that lost Holloway Broberg McLeod foegle and now Pickard. WTF?

  3. Thank you for coming in clutch when you needed to Picks. Well greatly miss you. Other than that, PLEASE keep Connor Ungar in Bakersfield throughout the rest of the season AND next season. The more time he develops in the AHL, the more he will become an absolutely amazing goaltender. Let him develop properly and don’t rush him like what happened with Stuart Skinner. I’ve been tracking Connor Ungar’s play for a long time and he is absolutely going to be in Edmonton’s starting lineup within the next couple of years (at the latest during McDavid’s last year).

  4. Went on for years about goal tending and now we move on it’s so bittersweet 😮‍💨 I imagine the rangers pick him up to give quick a reliable partner to split the load

  5. Slightly different topic, but is it now fair to say that the pressure of playing in his hometown definitely affected Skinner's game? He looks pretty golden in Pittsburgh…

  6. I wish the best for Picks, he is not only a nice guy, he has shown solid skills in playoffs time, when it mattered the most.

That aside, I said in yesterday's video that it was too risky for me right now to spend a fortune to travel from Spain to EDM to watch a game live at Rogers Place, that could potentially be another blowout… Problem solved. I will go in two weeks to Milano to watch McDavid &Co playing in the Olympics against France. Game tickets were expensive, but takes only a cheap 1.5 hours flight to get there from Barcelona… 🎉

  7. Calling up Ungar might be a good choice, to have a look at before the trade deadline. Knobby did admit that he pulled Ingram prematurely in that game.

  8. In this highly skilled modern NHL you need disciplined defence. Any goalie left out to hang and dry by himself will show bad save %. The Oilers don’t have consistent defence. Good goalies can have their confidence shaken in Edmonton. Proven many times already. When will this broken system get fixed? By whom? Until then we keep on losing cups and Connor’s GONE.

  9. Such a frigging shame. If this team figures that the netminders are the issue they should just pack it in. They the really th8nk with all the goalies this team has gone through that its the issue? They are absolutely brutal defensively and it shows. Now Jarry and Ingram will be the escape goats you just wait and see! If they th8nk they will get into and make it to the finals they have alot of work to do. Floating by the seat of their pants just won't do it. You don't see good teams letting there goalie hand to dry! Colorado, Detroit ect all have stable D and it shows. This is getting to be too much.

  10. Crazy man absolutely crazy that the two goalies that have taken you guys to the Stanley Cup finals two years in a row are gone. I don’t think he clears waivers.

  11. Well, whatever happens. Edmonton will always love Cal. He’s a damn good soldier and shows up when he’s needed. Whether it’s with the Oilers or another team. I hope he doesn’t get forced to play in the AHL. He’s way too good of a back up for that.

  12. Full goalie overhaul and we're still creating the same shitty defensive lapses and selling out our goalies! Doesn't matter who they are, of our defense continues to be lame then no great goalie will help our cause!!

  13. Only reason Oilers are in a playoff spot is their powerplay. Once that cools its over. Preseason I said no final 4 and sticking with that prediction. Only way Oilers get saved if Calgary sends them Backlund and Coleman for Trent and Andrew and that trade will be very costly indeed and all need agree to the trade.
