@Flyers de Philadelphie

I have to push back on Colby. In what world were the Flyers in a position to trade assets for Hughes?.

  2. Dan Hilferty seems like a great guy, but he went on another podcast as claimed he got 3 text messages from season ticket holder telling him to stay the course.

    I clearly didn't pay enough for my season tickets (before I canceled) to get a direct line to the CEO

  3. The bloodlust isn't a minority. My dad is 78 and a die-hard from way back. He doesn't care or watch the Flyers anymore. He doesn't care. Me? I'm fed up. Dan Hilferty was an embarrassment yesterday.

  4. Flyers build the "right way", with "culture", to build a team that is "hard to play against" and will "win in the playoffs." Platitudes on platitudes with no substance.

  5. Nice to bring 2 guests on just for the hosts to bitch and argue over top of each other. Great content fellas. I’ll stick to Snow the Goalie

  6. Johnny why are you scared to elaborate on the Drury situation feel like your a little scared to dive deep in to it because your NYR beat writer Colby was trying to address it after the Trotz news and you wanted nothing to do with it C’mon man man up !!!

  7. Am I the only one who loves Colby pressing and telling Johnny to cry about it? That's hilarious and what makes this show great. Both Colby and Johnny elevate the show

  8. Fans of most NHL teams are just going to have to get used to that perpetually being in the "mushy middle", like the Flyers, as the league continues to expand. Because there are 32, 34, 36 or 40 teams doesn't mean there are now more than 5 top prospects in a draft. That means there will be a top 5 or 6 teams that are legitimate cup contenders, and about 5 teams at the bottom getting prime draft picks, and 22 teams in the "mushy middle". In a 21 team league it was 11, little more than half the league. In a 32 team league, 2/3rds are in the "mushy middle". In a 40 team league it will be 3/4ers, and as more team are in that position it will be harder to get out of it and the stays there will be much longer–decades long for some teams, like Philly, Calgary, Islanders, Ottawa, Columbus, Winnipeg, etc.

    Also, it has become so, since big trades and big free agent signings have disappeared, that the deciding event in the success of a rebuild is the pure luck of winning the draft lotto in a year when a McDavid or Celebrini level player is available. If you don't win one of those, or you win in a year with mediocre prospects, your rebuild will fail. And you have no control over that.

  9. Usually love the banter , and if it's banter or little pokes that's fine. Having two guests on and then fighting over being able to talk and Colby saying Johnny should cry about it is just embarrassing. I get both sides and not hating but cmon

  10. I don't think its just bad drafting and not fully starting over.

    I dont think this organization knows how to develop talent. Brayden Point was a 3rd round pick and has developed into a franchise center. Nikita Kucherov was a second round pick and is a top 3 player in the league.

    I think the current regime needs to go. And they need new eyes to assess exactly what they have and how to get the best out of players.

    We got Michkov here and there doesn't appear to be a plan to develop his talent. He showed he can be a star last year. Leo Carlsson from the Ducks, same draft just watched a video of their development for him (behind the scenes video by the Ducks). Drafting a player is great but you need to have a plan in place to maximize that talent.
