When a game starts going like this one, Manson needs to start targeting their checking line . Drag them into the penalty box, blast them into the boards, make them pay physically for playing that style of game. Hurt them.
Don't look now, but Minnesota and Dallas are creeping up on the Avs. That big lead that the Avs had recently is starting to evaporate. If power rankings are established by how a team is presently performing, as it should be, the Avs don't belong in the top 10.

The wings had the flu run through their team 2 days before Colorado came to Detroit. The fans need to warn McKinnon not to try and break the Red wings Captain's arm next time. I think that started the rivalry all over again.

And that was the ugly side of the Avs and another home loss in a row – and San Jose won’t be easier. I am getting worried about their recent weakness on home ice, reminds me of previous seasons.

Not just a “blip.” The Avs had a bad January, and are coming back to the Wild and Stars.
The continued abomination of a power play, along with teams figuring out how to to stymie the Avs preferred style of play means it’s likely to be a bar fight to hang on to first place in the division/conference/league. And that’s with top-tier goaltending, which the Lumberyard has provided with just a few games exceptions.
The Avs had FOUR shots in the second period. While trailing, for 99% of the game.

Comparing the 3rd period in Detroit with the 2nd last night isn’t very enlightening. The Avs had a multi-goal lead in Detroit and no reason to press offensively. The opposite of last night.
I’m a die hard Wings fan for a little over 30yrs. I would say to the Avs fan. Don’t worry about this game. You guys have a stacked team. It’s hard to get the president trophy. To maintain that level of consistency is difficult. Your guys just got shut down, happens to the best of us. Seider, in my opinion, completely shut down Nathan. Seider is a monster back there. We were playing without our second best defenseman, Simon Edvinsson. He’s a 6’6 monster we took 6th overall a few years ago. Good luck to Avs, I like seeing you guys successful. Back in the day when I was a teenager during the glory days of the rivalry. I hated you guys. But as you get older, you develop a respect for your rivals. I hope you guys stay healthy and play really well in the playoffs! Good luck fellas!!
