I will 💯 agree with your point on needing to figure out timing and space by playjng. The games before he was injured, he was running around and cutting through the middle with his head down or admiring a pass a few feet from the boards. The game last night I actively saw him scanning the ice and keeping his head up. Yes he needs more strength, but guess what? Hughes and Hutson are smaller too. It's super important to play more so your more in sync with where you are on the ice.
That is honestly, more valuable then size because he will probably always be on the smaller side.
I say play him so he can show everyone that he is not Bouchard south.
imo, about 99% of young (19-21) Dmen belong in AHL for 100+ games. It's their play w/o puck; defending against NHLers, w the strength, size and abilities they have. Also strength, 19-21yr olds need muscle and pound age usually. I'd say for ZP – and all young similar Dmen – forget about that player as an NHLer till 27-28 season.
