5:21 The comparison with the JT Miller trade is inapt because that was a trade for a player under contract for another several years. This trade for Panarin is only for the rest of this season. It's a rental. They're not going to get the type of return you get for a player under contract.

The NHL should have a Harold Ballard award for owners like Dolan.
I hate drury and think the Rangers should have received a lot more, but Greentree was a first round pick that a lot of experts expected to be a top 10-15 pick. Many say if there was a redo of the 24 draft, he'd definitely be in the top 10.

Panarin's struggles in the playoffs is overblown. Really those were failures of the entire team not capitalizing on his line being targeted. Everything clamps down in the playoffs, and teams aren't going to allow the other best players to beat them. It's like the WR1 luring the double coverage which allows for WR2 and WR3 to tear it up, but if WR2 and WR3 don't take advantage and disperse the coverage, WR1 doesn't get to shine. Hell, even Mcdavid gets shut down in the playoffs for a few games at a time. Artemi will be missed and his void will be felt
Drury need to go, this team is an absolute joke! Nothing he has done, no move, has worked. I would not have kept Planarian long-term but two years? I would have definitely signed him to that deal. We have a few terrible years ahead of us. I guess you build a team around Igor and Fox? What else do we have? Nothing in the pipeline, nothing on the bench!
100% on no reason to drop your pants to the league with that letter. I don't see any other team operating with that much transparency. Possible Drury thinks a letter like that will draw someone out that wants to play in NY? Force the hand of their GM in a trade ,ie Miller
I really think Rangers didn't resign breadman because there was some type of settlement MSG and him with a woman. That's the only reason I can think of for not resigning a 100 point player.
Liam Greentree can't be much worse than Laferniere…..he should be with the team next year playing on top line.
Drury has been a disaster on steroids for several reasons but Panarin has to take some heat here if LA was his only choice. He can hate Drury all he wants, we all do, but that just screws the fans what he did. Unforgivable if true.

I love the copium in here. When they announced they would trade Panarin every comment was "we are getting back a haul" to now " Drury had no leverage". But I'm sure he will get that "haul" on the next trade. What a terrible GM. Why would anyone not just low ball him on any trade proposal moving forward seeing that he literally announced to the world that he intends to trade no matter the price. Look at what the Islanders got for Nelson, a top 30 prospect, a 1st and a 3rd. We got the 134th ranked prospect and a 3rd, what a joke.
The only way to not lose an artemi panarin trade was to resign him.

What exactly do u think u should get for Panarin? He held all the cards as far where he wanted to go plus teams arent going to overpay for a player who for all intends and purposes will be his last contract. Also the other teams that was part of the process, didn’t want to give him that kind of money to extend him.
