Assuming Bedard wants to go, this makes me feel bad for him. However, it’s a welcome rest for him to heal up.

Selfishly, I’d love to see him play in an All Star team type setup like this. Seems like if he’s awarded space and excellent service from his line mates that he’d be outstanding.

  2. Hawks1stPickin2019

Was Jarvis even a listed sub? What’s the point of listing Bedard if he’s not being picked

  3. fastcol

Whatever, it was clear that they were never going to choose him unless they had their hands forced.

I’d bet the next call up would be Scheifele.

    Hopefully this fires up Bedard.

  4. archasaurus

Surprised they picked Jarvis as a Point replacement but he is having a good year. Something tells me him being on the 4 Nations team gave him the edge. Silly reason but we know how Canada operates. Oh well. Rest up Bedard and tear the league up in a month.

  5. cvandeur7

Maybe bedard doesnt want to play on your stupid team anyways

  6. Huge_Lobster_3564

Man, I gotta be honest, I don’t want Bedard to go anyway. Needs to heal and get back to 100% and back on the dot.

  7. awolthesea

Honestly? Fine by me. I’d rather he stay healthy and start his villain arc than risk another injury

  8. FlyFishingTherapist

I hope Bedsy passive aggressively gains secondary citizenship to another country and in the next Olympics leads that team to gold while publicly denigrating Team Canada leadership. That would be a true full villain arc.

They know he’d show everyone up so they’re just trying not to hurt egos, obviously

But in all seriousness, hopefully this gets him rest and that shoulder can get even stronger before coming back to just absolutely crush the back end of the season. It sucks that they’re overlooking someone who we know is so talented but he has so many years ahead of him, more opportunities will arise, especially if he can get and stay healthy.

He will have to accept the call to play at the World Championships next time. They didn’t like being told no

  11. Swing-Too-Hard

He hasn’t taken a faceoff since he returned from injury. Like it or not guys, I’m pretty sure the Hawks told Bedard and Team Canada he won’t be playing in the Olympics due to his shoulder injury.

If having a top P/GP in the NHL while playing on a doggy doo-doo team isn’t enough then the decision clearly isn’t about performance. Like, hes tied w Kaprizov who has an absolute juggernaut of a team to play with.. Hawks can’t barely enter the zone on the PP.

Connor will hardly be in his mid-20s for 2030 France.

Celebrini – McDavid (C) – Bedard top line is gonna go hard

  13. SimpleJack316

I’d be upset if 98 was himself rn. But he’s clearly limited and not performing up to standards. Team Canada has probably been keeping an eye on him post-injury return and understandably so they probably haven’t liked what they’ve seen. I wouldn’t have picked him either.

This is actually good news for Hawks fans though. Gives Bedard time to heal up and get back to 100%.

  14. greatwhitenorth2022

At least he won’t catch the Norovirus at the games.

  15. Jaycago62

As someone who watches both teams, very well deserved by Jarvis in a career year.

Also as someone who watches both teams, both guys should have both gotten the nod initially.

  16. brucewayne0624

Good. Hopefully we’re witnessing the beginning of his villain arc.

  17. Bayern-96

I hope they do another four nations tournament next year and have bedard play.

  18. seltzerwithasplash

I honestly think this will just fuel him to be even better. The decision makes sense when considering he’s still post injury and not even taking face offs. He’s young, he’ll get there, plenty of time for future Olympics.

  19. SpeedSpecialist5923

Canada going to get smoked at the Olympics. Love to see it.

  20. bedsyburrow

Haha this is hilariously stupid from team Canada

  21. SlashACM

I’m glad he’ll be able to rest up. However seeing canes fans come in and say Jarvis plays defense and Bedard doesn’t 🤓☝️ makes me angry

  22. Chedward_E_Cheese

I feel bad for Bedard but I’m glad he’ll be able to heal up

  23. bedsyburrow

Picking Jarvis over Bedard is laughable at best. More than enough pk and defensively sound forwards on team Canada. Bedard provides a skill set that is in the top 1 percentile in the world. Anyone that doesn’t see that has not watched him this year. Doug Armstrong hates the Blackhawks with a passion so it’s not surprising

  24. 40jordan

Hopefully Team Canada doesn’t even medal then it will all even out!

  25. dazed63

I still believe NHL players do not belong in the Olympics

  26. BigBadBootyDaddy1315

Can we get him US citizenship?

  27. Fun-Zombie7782

It’s seriously baffling how blatantly they’re shafting someone who is supposed to be a pillar of the next generation I genuinely don’t get it. What are they trying to accomplish?

  28. ShellshockedLetsGo

The entire trajectory of Bedard’s career has changed because KD has failed to get him any help. Thankfully the Sharks actually got some skill around to help Celebrini blossom.

By year 3 the fact his linemates are still being swapped constantly just shows how KD hasn’t put pieces around him to elevate his game further.
