  1. So what do the hawks get if it’s top 10 has anyone mentioned that?

  2. RaveOn1958

Great job by the beat reporters, only took a year to figure this out. Lazerus was too busy writing another think piece to dig into it

  3. archasaurus

Glad it’s sorted at least. Fully expect the Panthers to finish outside the top 10 picks anyway.

  4. torque_penderloin

What was Kyle Davidson thinking here? This is pretty bad.

  5. Three_Froggy_Problem

This is lame, but what’s the likelihood of the Panthers picking in the top 10 anyway?

  6. gudenes_yndling

I can’t believe this condition was not reported until now. It’s been almost a year since the trade

  7. cam_barker_4_norris

Well maybe the panthers will really fall off next year and we’ll get dupont?

  8. Specialist_Boat_8479

Would it convert in the future if it doesn’t hit this year?

  9. SimpleJack316

They’re gonna land right at #10 just watch. This really blows. My problem is that it’s just now coming out. That’s unacceptable.

  10. Really fucking annoying that this, somehow, never got reported until today lol the NHL is a joke for allowing teams to make such insanely complicated trade conditions but then also not require those conditions to be made public…

I’ll be curious to see what players, scouts, execs, etc. on teams across the league say about this because I would assume many are just as surprised as we are to learn about this today lol

  11. Would be funny if they win the lottery and we get bumped back a few spots, funny in a « this is bullshit » kinda way.

I honestly thought that I had read this at the time of the trade, so it’s not a big surprise to me now. What is a big surprise is that the Panthers are in danger of it being protected.

  13. Sorry_Sky6929

Im still upset about this. I was really hoping we would have that pick unprotected

  14. PeakyParker99

My confusion is: Let’s say the panthers finish 12th, and then win the lottery, making that pick #2. Does that pick go to the hawks, or does the top ten protection apply to the final result and Panthers keep the pick? I need some NHL PEMDAS for this

  15. Chitownchris89

What happens if Ottawa finishes 10th with a forfeited pick and Florida finishes 11th?

I want Davidson to have press conference and report this shit out. And clarify details to everyone. This is clownship management from our GM and clownship new reporting from news reporters, specially Chicago’s owns. You massive shitheads. Hope you reading this.

Not that it is any consolation, but it appears that this draft has a lot of good players in the 3-9 range, so if we get Florida’s pick at #11, 12 or 13 there is a very good chance we land an excellent player with that pick.

Also, in 2024 the Wild and the Flyers swapped picks 12 and 13 in exchange for the Wild’s 2025 3rd round pick.

So it should only take a 3rd rounder to jump up a spot from 13 to 12, and probably a 2nd rounder to jump from 11 to 10.
