The Canucks need to maximize his value in a trade. If he'll go to LA, and LA wants him, do the deal when his value is the highest. Dumping a former 100 point player who is Guy Charbonneau defensively would be really stupid.

The only team Petey has any incentive to play for is Team Sweden. Vancouver has turned out to be poison for him. On ice and even more so off ice. If he retired for one year would that get his contract off the books? If so, he could come back and sign with any team(including the Canucks) for what he's really worth. Never going to happen but one can dream.

Just a dumb time to trade Petey. His value most likely will go up as his term goes down and salaries go up. He might start playing better as well especially if they draft McKenna to play with him.
Byfield hasn't exactly hit, but at least he isn't an albatross of a contract. Kings hang up the phone and LOL.
Vancouver would have to add this years first unprotected also to make LA think about this. How are idiots like this given public forums when they know nothing about the sport or teams?
Move that contract for anything they can get if there is no salary retention. If salary retention then should just keep him since Petey is horrible and helps the tank.
