I still don’t really understand why this is surprising. For most people, once they get to a certain level of rich, they tolerate one another regardless of political affiliation. They were bystanders before they had money, and they remain bystanders after.
Aqua has probably always been a MAGA-type Conservative, at least out of self-interest. Never any reason to expect otherwise.
It was a lot easier to be a hockey fan before social media, when all you knew about players was gleaned from the magazine they gave out at the games. What’s your favourite food? Who’s your favourite band? What’s your favourite movie?
I miss those days. I don’t like to live in ignorance, but enjoying hockey was easier then.
