3) Justin Williams → Caroline (2004)
• 3 Coupes (2006, 2012, 2014)
• Conn Smythe, « M. Jeu 7 »
• Retour : Danny Markov
Artiste d’élite en séries éliminatoires développé ailleurs.
4) Rod Brind’Amour → Caroline (2000)
• 1 Coupe (2006, en tant que capitaine)
• 2× gagnant Selke
• Retour : Keith Primeau
J’ai perdu un créateur de culture.
5) Peter Forsberg (droits dans l’accord Lindros) → Québec (1992)
• 2 Coupes (1996, 2001)
• Temple de la renommée
Contexte compliqué… mais cette carrière pique.
6) Brayden Schenn → Saint-Louis (2017)
• 1 Coupe (2019)
• Retour : Lehterä + Picks (Frost via 1er)
Douleur à court terme, débat à long terme.

Lequel vous fait le plus mal ?
Sharp se sent comme le raté le plus propre.
Bob pourrait être le plus dommageable.
Qui m’a manqué ?

Ghost. He is not a hall of famer, but the return, if you even want to call it that, was shameful
Let’s be honest the flyers would have flyera all of them
I’d move Forsberg up, but I cant argue the top 2.
Also the fact I’ve been actively following this team for every one of these makes me want to jump off the Ben Franklin
The Bobrovsky trade is a bit nuanced to me, as I recall he wanted a starting role and didn’t want to backup Bryz. When I look back on that, I think it was more about signing Ilya to a bad contract and losing what turned out to be a very good goaltender.
The Forsberg trade to me is likely the worst. We essentially traded two Stanley Cups to Colorado. They flipped the picks packaged in that deal into a core that won a lot of games (and two cups) in the 90’s.
This is too painful a read
I was a huge Brind’Amour guy, and never really accepted Primeau until about halfway through that 2004 run. I hated hated hated that trade. Hated they we sent him out, hated that he was perceived as the lesser player and that we had to give up a pick too. And now seeing how Brind’Amour has become a centerpiece of Carolina just adds insult to injury. I’ll never be over it.
I just hope everybody remembers that Bob wasn’t very good when he was with the Flyers. Was it the defense around him or maybe the coaching and the game plan your guess is as good as mine, but he let in some really soft goals when he was in Philly.
Bob is my Number One.
Richards and Carter also went on to win cups
Ghost will be thr worst flyers trade ever for me. We paid a second to get rid of him for some reason. Peak Chuck Fletcher Hockey
Kent Manderville for Billy Tibbets.
I feel like trading for Tony DeAngelo is definitely regrettable.
I don’t think the Brindamour one is that bad. Primeau had some rough times here but he probably played Conn Smythe level hockey if they could have gotten over a really tough Lightning team. He’s the only reason they get that to a 7th.
Reading this makes me again wonder why I continue to be a fan of this team. Hell I live over 1000k miles away, at this point I should just abandon ship
Just seeing bob in anything but a flyers jersey makes me sick to this day. We went years without a competent goalie and we threw away a future hall of famer for nothing.
That’s a brutal list to see. Williams for Markov is incredible in retrospect. Williams played 21 years and might go to the Hall of Fame.
I would add: Hartnell traded for Umberger
the Sharp deal turned out bad but you have to remember that the Flyers at the time of the trade already had Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, 2 1st rd centers, about to make the team. hard to believe but the Flyers were loaded w C prospects and they were simply trying to make space. Sharp hadnt done anything up to that point in the season or prior to distinguish himself. classic case of needing a change of scenery.
Bob is #1. Sharp was really good but Bob turned into a HoF goaltender.
There are so many….

Forsberg is historical revision and the Lindros trade reinvigorated the franchise and made them relevant again.
Patrick Sharp
Schenn. Basically drafted frost and replaced him with Hayes neither of which panned out. I feel if they kept him and were able to get a 1 D they would’ve been a real playoff contender.
Farabee’s pick was also part of that Brayden Schenn trade
JVR for Luke Schenn
Handzus for Kyle Calder-It’s not so much that Handzus was good as much as Kyle Calder was so bad.
Dennis Seidenberg for Petr Nedved-Nedved added nothing and Seidenberg, while a role player, played another 10-12 seasons.
Steve Emminger for a 1st. If that wasn’t bad enough, the Caps drafted John Carlson with that pick.
Fuck, man.
Clarkie was also a little ahead of the offer sheet trend and Ryan Kesler almost happened which would have been amazing at the time. Kesler’s recent troubles notwithstanding it would’ve been a perfect match. I agree with the above, there are reasons the players were traded. IMO only Bob wasn’t given proper time. Patrick Sharp would have never developed here, he was surrounded by amazing talent in CHI. My general malaise with the org has been one of “good old boys” and nepo network when it comes to front office and coaching hires. Never ending hamster wheel.
EDIT: I also happen to irrationally love this franchise through thick and thin and ups and downs. Most consider me a “stepford” fan. Of all the teams I support, seeing the Flyers stumble always hits me extra. I can’t properly articulate why that is, just have a special place in my heart for the Flyers thru extreme highs and lows.
Justin Williams is the one that sticks in my craw the most.
The sooner you accept that we are the Philadelphia Browns the better. Sacramento kings. The Pittsburg pirates.
There are many boneheaded trades. Especially when dealing assets like picks. Trading 1st and 3rd for Versteeg was dumb as hell. Only saving grace was Toronto didn’t really do well with the pick
Bob and Forsberg , I will never ask for the years we had with Lindros back they were amazing but we gave up so much to get him and his health was mis handled. But it’s almost interesting to see if we would have had a better run if we stuck with Forsberg and we didn’t basically pay for Colorado’s cup run.
Lindros>forsberg
