People are under estimating kyrous ability…idk if yall aint watched him play or what, but we have potential for a decent playoff run this year..why wouldnt you want kyrou right now? No doubt kashawn could be/will be a great defenseman, but if we can lock kyrou in i dont see the downside

Not sure I would give up Aitch that quickly. But based on the fact that these are rumored names, this may be a starting place rather than final pieces. Perhaps George, Nelson, and one of the 1sts gets it done. I would certainly make that trade, but don’t know if it’s enough. George is more NHL ready than Aitch which may be appealing to the blues

To all of you saying Thomas, he’s not the better option. Kyrou is by far the better option for the Isles.
Thomas has yet to play a full healthy season
Kyrou has been healthy for the last 3+ seasons.
Kyrou’s production is better and scores far more.
Thomas is a pass first player.
Kyrou’s goal totals the last 4 seasons are: 36, 31, 37, 27.
Kyrou has 4 more seasons (after this one) at 8.1m salary which is great value with the cap rising.
A realistic trade might need to include Kashawn bc I’m sure they are going to try and convince Drouin to have St Louis on his trade list. The Isles would need to clear 2.1m in space to make the trade work. Other trade option is going to have to be cizikas unfortunately.

Even Aitcheson defenders can see he’s putting up numbers in the OHL where most of the top talent has fled to the NCAA right? He’s producing like crazy but you can’t just project him to be a top 4 two way defensemen when he’s playing against inferior 16 year old competition who are physically and mentally underdeveloped.

I wouldn’t trade Aitcheson for Kyrou or Thomas straight up. This kid is fantastic. In less than two years he’ll be a top four pairing defenseman. We give him away now and in two years it’ll cost us two firsts and two top prospects to replace him. They can’t have Eiserman either. In order to build we have to keep these guys. Find another way, there has to be one.
