Even if Tanev was somehow the reason the defence sucks, are you relying on an injury prone player in his late 30s with a ton of mileage to be even close to be consistently healthy next year to save the defence? When everyone on your defence is slow and plodding in their mid 30s and the league is getting faster then how does it not blow up in your face quickly? Talk about a lack of foresight.

When Marner Matthews and Nylander were rookies, that was the time to build up the foundation with goal tending and Defense, and what did they do? They then broke the piggy bank for JT, instead of building the foundation. Now here they are, another decade wasted by poor management.

Auston Mathews is playing well- almost 26 goals- 22 games left- he will get 30 some goals this season- maybe 40- that is a positive- Leafs need some work- but, they aren't a total write off
When you trade Nikita Grebenkin and Fraser Minten away it tells me all about the incompetence of Treliving.
Pelley tone in that email to fan base is so mind-boggling I would love to sit down with him and ask him who thought 'Rogers corporate speak' would be a good idea?
Berube was tuned out the first day as the coach of the Leafs and Treliving don't understand that and Treliving was supposed to come in and do the shake up haven't seen anything.
