Sabres win the cup before canucks
Even power has taking a big step. He isnt flashy but he is positionally sound, keeps possesion and is good at moving the puck up ice. The offense hasnt come yet but signs are there that it will.
As a red wings fan both buffalo and Detroit have been wagons this year,nobody thought we’d both be where we’re are at this year.
Red wings have currently been top 3 in the division for like pretty much the whole season until buffalo came out of nowhere in December .buffalo has been playing scary hockey and my red wings playing really good this year to where they’re not afraid to play any one we have a lot of confidence this year.weve had several times been first in the division and conference till Tampa got on their hot streak.
Detroit and Buffalo both making the playoffs, sorry Toronto sorry Florida time to start selling.
We need third line D and maybe a Quinn replacement but that’s all I’d do right now. Don’t want to shake up the chemistry
What is the definition of a “sports heater”? I always assumed it was like a 10 game win streak or something like that… a streak. I’m pretty sure being one of the top 10 teams in all of hockey this year (depending on the month) should just constitute “they are just a good team”. Also… as a Buffalonian… the mood around the team / the perma cloud hanging over KeyBank Center was that our GM was not experienced and either could not make the tough trade, would not sacrifice or perhaps was not respected by the other GMs and therefore that can be felt by the players and coaching as well. So… NOT a destination city cause of weather, economics and culture. Well a new GM so far has paid dividends in the culture change alone. We have yet to see a major trade, but honestly the team is playing so well and the locker room is so healthy that it’s tough to trade away any piece. I do hope for more defensive depth and maybe a center man that can win us faceoffs in the playoffs. Go Sabres and admittedly… I think it might take time for fans and the media to get used to the Sabres winning. Job not done yet… still need to make and then preform in the playoffs, but I like the trajectory of the team.
Shout out to our expansion brother the Vancouver Canucks. We will ride for you this year till you pull it together. Go Sabres!!

Looking at Buffalo's roster it's more shocking that they would be bad than good. They are really a stacked team.
I think the biggest thing that sparked this whole turnaround is the fact that Jarmo came in said NO ONE is safe and EVERYONE is under evaluation. Former GM Kevyn Adams I think went and built arguably some of the best teams on paper but never actually put everyone on blast and held anyone accountable considering how low morale was, and how comfortable everyone seemed to feel for years to that point. The absolute WARPATH they are on they are 2nd to I think Tampa or Colorado (someone correct me here just in case) since 12/9/25. The way they have been playing the 3 goalie rotation has been huge and the way ALL the players are playing right now not just the stars like Tage and Dahls is such a huge boost on all fronts. I have not been this excited to watch this team in years but I am so happy they finally have it all put together. This NEEDS to be the year we end this and I don't know what it is but I feel they are going to make a lot of noise this year in the postseason.
Whenever they played well, they played Ruff style when they stopped playing Ruff style theyd either let a team comeback or lose from the beginning. They finally figured out play Ruffs system they win. And away they went.

Having an actual GM at the helm makes all the difference in the world for an organization. As far as the team goes, Lindy Ruff was hired last season and said it would take at least a year to implement his system. Here we are, more than a year later and they're rolling 4 lines, getting above average goaltending as well. The only thing preventing them from being a true cup contender is their PP. If that gets even slightly better, they just might go on a deep playoff run. 👍👍
