  1. When I was about 7 I attended Cub Scouts, the local scout groups made a hockey house league.
One of my teammates was Gord Murphy, solid NHL D-Man in the 90s , father of Connor Murphy.
Fun Fact : former Calgary Flames 1st round pick in 87 Bryan Deasley was also on that team..

  2. Someone said that the Hawks now have a team where everyone on it was either signed or drafted by Davidson. There is no more Bowman fingerprints left on the Hawks roster.

  3. might Edmonton acquire center Laughton and goaltender Stolarz or Woll from Toronto? what would it take to pull off trade for one or both?

  4. No health issues for Ekholm this year, he has been excellent. Murphy is the kind of addition this team needs, he can play the defensive role that the oilers need on the PK and 5on5.

  5. Really like this trade, needed a second shut down D, needed to bolster our PK, and a RD let's us put Walman back at LD and hopefully improve him a bit.
Walman Murphy second line to give us an Ekholm Bouch like second line.

  6. OEL is a logical fit if they can make the cap numbers work. If he could stabilize Nurse's game, then Murphy and Walman as your third pairing would be a much better balanced D core imo

  7. Now that they somehow convinced Coffey to come back and yell at the defenceman again when they don’t play the puck, they have a shot. When Coffey wasn’t there pissing them off they played soft. This trade helps.

  8. it'll help, i wanted him in montreal. but if bouchard, nurse and walman still refuse to play defense, this team can't win. if jarry/ingram/pickard can't stop a beach ball, this team can't win.

  9. 6 D depth will give Jarry the confidence necessary to push Colorado Dallas and Minnesota. That will put Connor McDavid and Leon Draisiatl in position to control playoff hockey games beyond Vegas. Round 3 with the Lightning the big kick out might happen….♓️

  10. The oilers need guys in the bottom six that will win puck battles….. we need to get bigger and meaner imo

  11. Whether the Oilers are done is likely entirely dependant on if there is a team out there willing to take a chance on one of the forwards that hasn't really worked out for them; its a safe bet that nobody wants Federic's contract, but I have no idea if there's a market for Mangiapane.

  12. Nurse drops down to 5/6 with Emberson. Walman and Murphy might work or they might put Walman and Bouch together and have a shutdown pairing of Murphy/Eckholm.

  13. I would say yes until I remember that a) McDecent is the supposed “leader” and b) Edmonton is in Canada. Canada will always be second best. Ankles up!
