i was excited when they signed him. he's had some really good games this year. a ton of talent, but management seems to hate him and/or his play.
When a 30 year old is on his 9th team stop trying to reinvent what's obvious. He has talent when he actually works. He is so frustrating and inconsistent
There is a reason he has been in so many teams over his career. He has a ntc so it won't be easy to trade. He and Druoin are both busts. Good luck trying to trade them.

Who the hell wants Duke? His defensive game is brutal. Acting like it’s better than Drouin’s defensive play is a weird take. Both passengers have to go but …. What are you watching?

Wether Roy was right or wrong for commenting on his play the dude makes millions so that comes with the territory. Shit if I was making that much money and wasn’t playing up to par I’d take it like a man and if I did have a problem I’d confront the coach about it and air it out, not leave his teammates. Drouin is another guy shooting blanks that should be shown the door. I think he had enough chances. Maybe trade both for picks or an enforcer because come the playoffs if the islanders are in teams will be running Schaefer and Barzal
Lee – is making me eat my words. BUT, need this for the rest of the season if they are not trading him. Can't be sitting in the cushions of the contract like he has done past few seasons.
DuClair and Drouin have been two of the worst Islander signings in the past 25 years.
The Island is a team that doesn't go capture games – they take over games. Well coached, great system, all do what they can and not too much. This organized defensive style, allows the team to smoother rather than sting. This team can be a final 4 team (right now, its beating the Pens and Canes) both are very doable – go get us a steady D-man and a goal scorer – and if you can attached futures on that, perfect and or depth guys, sweet deal. The NHL is open – there is no one dominate team. Why not the Island? Goaltending wins cups – the Island have a top 5, if not 3 in the league.
And you Adam Bo sitting in stands as extra defensive men
Go get Roberts and or Nylander. Dangle Eiserman, Ritchie, the Avs first pick – plus other young talent outside of your top ten. This team has needs some age balance, a youth injection – and if your youth aint ready, clear 'em out for guys who can help you today. That doesn't mean be stupid and give away top prospects, but how long we waiting for Eiserman or Ritchie to figure it out? Trade 'em for young vets
You don’t trade a player like Simon, unless its for an absolute stud (obviously as a package).
I think if 10 is with 13 & 14 he would be much more consistent pts wise
Duke is too soft to be with Roy, it’s that simple. Unlike many coaches, Roy played this game at the highest of levels. He is a savage and has no tolerance for “professionals” that don’t due what is required.
I keep JD over Duke he plays much better D than Duke, can take face offs & the offensive output isn’t that much higher from Duke (6 points) but JD has had more TOI
I trust that Drache and Roy do what as is best for the Islanders
Maybe I've missed it, but has anyone mentioned that Heineman has only scored 1 point in his last 15 games? Need more from him.
